As it says really. we have an unexpected house move on the 15 dec.
xmas seems to have been wiped off the radar, no decorations can go up till after we move. there isnt time for the usual xmas activities, no baking :(

it doesnt matter so much for me, but dd is 6 ( almost 7) and i want to try to keep the magic for her.

any ideas on how i can do this?

no, ' no offence' means no offence.
i said it was a lovely idea. i WAS being polite.

why are you being rude and trying to cause an argument?

I wanted ideas on how to try to help make it special, having just moved 10 days prior to xmas.

practical ideas.

im a lone parent, im doing most of it myself. and i work.
and cant take time off as ive just started a new job. its a hell of a lot for one person to do.

i dont personally feel your idea would work for me, i said ' no offence and that it was a nice idea' but practially wouldnt really work and you have jumped down my throat.

not nice and no need.

15th is still loads of time to enjoy decoration etc. In fact ours don't usually go up til then.

I would suggest that you don't try and unpack too much, anything that you can pack and mark 'later' so you know you don't need to unpack it before christmas will help (things like books, ornaments, summer clothes, etc)

The rooms won't look unpacked because you can put your christmas decs in them.

You can also do baking etc differently, so buy those decorate gingerbread men form tescos and let her decorate a batch at the kitchen table while you unpack.
buy a plain christmas cake and get her to decorate it how she likes etc.

Just in case you feel a bit bad for losing the 'magic' I am an 18th dec baby, and my mum is a 15th dec baby so Christmas at home was ALWAYS left late. This had NO impact on the day or activities and I always felt that Christmas was so special. I agree with the 'father Christmas knows ur moving' comment and letters etc. maybe a sign would also help? 'Santa stop here' as for moving.... Everyone's raiding their loft for decorations this time of year, so that's actually a job you WON'T have to do! HAPPY ChRISTMAS!!!!\

And also if u have that much to do, maybe local takeaway menus would be best to source first!

haha, i think they will!! have been saving money off pizza hut vouchers as i have no money, so that will help for the first night :)

Im sure it will all be ok, different to how i normally do it, but ok.
