The people im struggling with now are couples/people aged about mid 30's.
Have everything, dont really need/want anything, no room for 'stuff'.

The kids were easy, Adults are soo much harder!

Care to share your ideas with me? :)

subscriptions are good. Not on the High Street and beauty box services are good.

not in their 30s but for my mum and dad i am doing a food/goodies hamper for them to share :)

I am bored of putting a massive effort into buying the perfect gift for them to just moan about what they receive... I asked if they would like a hamper and they both said it would be a lovely idea :)

TheMummyBean · 15/11/2012 15:18

If they have everything maybe they wouldn't mind the value of their gifts being donated to charity?

This campaign from The African Children's Choir, who performed at the Jubilee with Gary Barlow, is asking people to 'Give up a Gift for Africa.'

Money raised goes towards their continued efforts to educate Africa's most vulnerable children.

It's aimed at parents to do for their LO's but if I had everything and was in my 30's I'd be very happy with it.

You get a link to a card to print off, which you can give them on Christmas day.

Food -

cheese and biscuits and port
balsamic vinegar and olive oil
posh olives, artichokes etc
wine
nice coffee and biscuits

Basically stuff they probably buy anyway but a step up in price/lux level.

Afternoon tea at Gleneagles. Mmmmmm.

stealthsquiggle · 15/11/2012 17:35

stargirl can I be your friend please? Gleneagles do the best afternoon tea ever.

stargirl1701 · 15/11/2012 17:38

If you were my friend you could even have the Champagne Afternoon Tea and stay over as we live 15 min from Gleneagles. Grin

stealthsquiggle · 15/11/2012 17:44

What would you like for Christmas Grin?

stargirl1701 · 15/11/2012 18:28

I've got a 10 week old baby. All I want for Christmas is a full night's sleep Grin

stealthsquiggle · 15/11/2012 20:19

Not sure I can help with that one, unless LO if FF.....

HappyAsEyeAm · 15/11/2012 21:08

Movie night - DVD, bag of popcorn, wine/champagne, chocs, voucher for local takeaway etc.

pigleychez · 15/11/2012 21:11

Thinking maybe the cineworld box thingy for Sis and Partner could work.

Love the truffle tree as SIL is a gardener but they have a small postage stamp garden and not sure where a tree would go.
The subscription veg seeds could work though as she has done veg in the past.

Food- Neither of them are particularly interested in posh foods... they tend to stick with what they know.
Plus my sis counts Chinese takeaway as exotic!

Thanks for all your ideas :)

Think we might be those people! Consumable gifts are best if you're not sure.

stealthsquiggle · 15/11/2012 21:28

FWIW we have had one of those truffle trees for 10 years with no sniff of a truffle (not that it's not a nice idea)

stealthsquiggle · 15/11/2012 21:32

Gluttonous Gardener do lots of lovely gift packs of plant + relevant extras

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 15/11/2012 23:05

Movie night gift sounds lovely.

flubba · 16/11/2012 07:59

Oh :( squiggle

stealthsquiggle · 16/11/2012 08:48

Flubba don't let that put you off - our tree has not had an ideal life (lived in a pot, been moved, largely killed off by frost) so other people may have had loads of truffles in the same time.

amillionyears · 16/11/2012 08:54

National Trust voucher?

flubba · 16/11/2012 12:52

Thanks Squiggle ~ may still go ahead with it as I think it's a great idea, but very sorry for your truffleless life too Wink

lljkk · 16/11/2012 12:57

Oxfam catalogue, teachers in the third world (my parents, live in small flat, Dad hates clutter).

Alcohol (Glenn Fidich) for the likes of my grandmother.

BeaLola · 16/11/2012 13:36

I would look on Travelzoo.com & buy voucher for lovely meal out or hotel say with dinner for them & then attach it all in nice box/card for them.

If they like gardening & have one would buy a tree or spcial standard rose (if they like them).

Cinema tickets.
