Thanks to everyone for their help on the codes/info below. It's a very brief (!!) synopsis of the past threads. I know I've missed a few out from the last thread Blush but have done what I can. If there's any codes which don't work please let me know and I'll do what I can to update for the next thread. Now, time to sit in front of the fire with the mulled wine and get shopping Grin

Seems like there will be some reasonable deals on amazon black friday - PS3 Spells starter kit is on today at 11.15.

Afrodizzywonders · 19/11/2012 08:09

Right, I'm about to hide this thread :( shopping done and I must not. Be tempted!

I bought this last night for DC half price wooden train set Toysrus. Oooops, I had him finished but then did that!! To be fair I have sold all his old toys on eBay, and have another bag left to do so they have paid for and know this will be something that will last him.

Now off to make chocolate Christmas trees for gifts and get ready for having baby 2 in 2 weeks.

Merry Christmas all of you :)

reastie · 19/11/2012 08:10

I'm really confused about this amazon deal thing. Went on this morning to see upcoming deals, put a signed Michael Mcintyre DVD in my basket ready to buy in the deal. Just went and bought it but it was full price not on offer only I'm a bit stupid so didn't realise until after I ordered it . Am I a bit thick? How do you know if you're getting it cheap or not?

OP posts:
reastie · 19/11/2012 08:17

OK, ignore my last message. I think I worked it out, it's just my problem was putting it in my bag before the offer started I think

OP posts:
MistressIggi · 19/11/2012 08:41

That might be it.
There mustn't be much time once the offer comes up, doesn't give you time to check out whether it's a good deal (ie what is it costing elsewhere). Though being Amazon it probably is the best price. but I do not need anything more

oreocrumbs · 19/11/2012 08:42

Yes reastie, you have to slavishly sit by your computer all day keep coming back!

I've had a look, there are a couple of things I'm interested in, so I've made a note of the times and I will log on to see them go live.

You need to be online at the time the deal goes live to get the good stuff, because if it sells out you can't get it.

Then you put it straight in your basket and check out within 15 minutes.

One point to mention is to bear in mind Amazon's fluctuating prices. I'm interested in the Melissa and doug beads. They are £12.99 on amazon now, I imagine they will drop them to around £8.99. Interestingly enough the price that have had them on sale on the last time I looked....

So don't get carried away!

That said I love Black Friday and got a bit crazy about it last year. Thankfully (or maybe not) I'm at work in a bit and have a busy week this week, so hopefully I won't bankrupt myself Grin.

oreocrumbs · 19/11/2012 08:47

Off to look at amazon!

notso · 19/11/2012 11:20

Just wondering about the Black Friday deals, do they add more stock? Looking at the Gaggia coffee machine, it says there is only 4 in stock at current price, does that mean there will only be four at the BF price?

twirlyagogo · 19/11/2012 12:14

L'Occitane update:

I received a broken bottle of perfume and a gift set that looked it had come from Poundland.

Their response?

I've just been sent two empty gift boxes Confused . . .

twirlyagogo · 19/11/2012 12:16

And the shoes I ordered from Office aren't here two weeks later - anyone had theirs yet (know some people ordered Converse on the sale)?

notso · 19/11/2012 12:23

Got my Office Converse in just over a week twirly however they were taken in nextdoor and no card was put through to tell me, good job current neighbours are trustworthy.

notso · 19/11/2012 12:25

Got the Gaggia in my basket but flung it back when I saw the price!

Really hoping for a signed one direction CD for DD, they had one last year, I have tonnes to do but Black Friday is taking over again.

thereinmadnesslies · 19/11/2012 12:33

Has anyone seen a toy lasso anywhere? DS is obsessed with being a cowboy. We've got a woody costume that he lives in, but he keeps asking for a lasso.

zipzap · 19/11/2012 12:42

Arggh. Can somebody tell me what happens on Black Friday deals - at the moment that the deal changes?

I watched the countdown - went to 0 seconds and nothing happened, was expecting the price to come up immediately as soon as it got to zero.

So hit the link to the page - said full price. went back to the black friday deals and had to click through several sets of offers to get back to the camera I wanted - to see that they had all gone Shock[grrr]

This all took less than a minute. How had other people seen the link to buy - were they just refreshing the product page rather than watching the lightning deals page?

The annoying thing is the site is still listing exactly the same number of cameras as being available as previously and although I'm on the waitlist I doubt that is going to do me much good as I was so shocked to see that the offer was already over I hesitated a few seconds and no doubt there will be lots of others ahead of me.

The sceptic in me thinks that there was only one camera available. grump.

But I'm digressing - please can somebody tell me what the best tactic is to get something popular - should I have waited for a buy link to come up on the lightning deals page or should I have been on the product page refreshing it or something else?

zipzap · 19/11/2012 12:53

falls over backwards.
pure fluke I was taunting myself looking back at the camera page and it seemed to be saying available so I hit buy and woohoo I now have my camera with an extra £80 off its normal amazon price.

I'd just been reading the lightning deals info page to see if I could find out more info about the process of what happens when you are on a waitlist and it said something about a message popping up which I didn't see until after I'd actually bought the thing - but seems that the buy link suddenly became active on the page again so I just hit buy and hoped and it worked. yippee.

sorry, will go and breathe and be calm elsewhere now! Far too exciting for me.
