3in2years As I understand it (although may be wrong, it occasionally happens!) they do the sale, and then order the number they have sold direct from the supplier. So the dispatch time varies.

I've only made one order, some shoes and they took about a month. I don't think all orders take the same amount of time, so it will be pot luck.

I do think you will probably get things by christmas and you can cancel your order if it gets too near.

But they take so long compared to other shops because usually a shop has it in stock and ready to send when you buy - Zulilly don't so thay have to wait for the supplier/factory to make/send out the amount required.

It's one of the reasons I'm not overly keen on them. The stuff they get is great, but do your research, there are often similar prices on amazon etc. When you add on the wait and the delivery they charge it stops being such a good deal.

Other posters on here have had problems with delivery charges too. It seems that if you pay by card the delivery is around £4 but if you pay by pay pal it is over £10. That may have been a glitch that has simce been corrected, but it sticks in my mind.

MUA (inexpensive make-up brand sold in Superdrug) have 35% off on their website with code MUA35. The offer apparently proved so popular that the website crashed but I've just been on and it's now working OK. Could be good for small gifts to go in crackers, stockings etc.

MidoriKobayashi · 16/11/2012 14:53

P.S. MUA Minimum spend is £10, offer ends at 2pm on Friday 23rd November, I like the look of the nail constellation and have heard that the undressed palette is good.

P.P.S. I love your thread with all the bargains!

Ilovemyteddy · 16/11/2012 15:37

Thanks reastie and to everyone who has contributed to these threads. I have been lurking since the first thread, and have picked up some fabulous bargains.

Was in TK Maxx today and they have a really good clearance sale on handbags - picked up a Paul Costelloe one £195 down to £50 (thanks, DH!)

Also in store in Tescos they are doing three paperbacks for £5. They aren't the most recent books, but there was a good choice for both men and women, so may be worth a look-see for stocking fillers.

pantshavenames · 16/11/2012 16:03

I've only ever been charged the £3.95 postage from Zulily and that's with paypal. 2 things I ordered have come but I ordered some lego stationary but no sign it's dispatched yet. On the plus side I e-mailed them about the broken cupcase carrier yesterday and got an e-mail today saying they'll give me a full refund, I can keep the tin and I've got a £10 credit so that seems pretty decent!

fruitcorner · 16/11/2012 16:17

Before I buy loads of the digital key rings from whsmith - can anyone tell me whether they are any good ?

reastie · 16/11/2012 16:58

Re: zulily an d postage costs. I think larger bulkier/heavier items can also be £10 postage, but, (sneaky tip) if you order something cheap and not too huge in size that you quite fancy anyway, then you pay £3.95 for postage on that one small item and once you've put that item through you then get free postage on anything else for the rest of the day so can then order the said large bulky or more expensive postage item with no extra postage charge. IME (haven't ordered a massive amount from them though) anything I've ordered has arrived about 2 weeks later than I placed the order. I guess it's one of the things you put up with for getting things cheaply. It's right that sometimes things might be cheaper on amazon etc, but also there are some things that are alot cheaper than I've found anywhere elsewhere. It's a case of checking around if you're not sure.

pants what a result Grin

3in2years · 16/11/2012 18:15

Thanks for zulily info. There are several items I'd already put in my amazon basket that are cheaper from zulily, even before using the discount code. With reastles tip the postage costs shouldn't be an issue.

I'm just worried the delivery wouldn't arrive in time.

Decisions, decisions.

reastie · 16/11/2012 18:17

3in2 just remember re: Zulily you can only use the mn discount code once, so if you do 2 orders to cheapen the postage costs, make sure you save the code for the more expensive order
