Christmas candles that don't cost the earth

Can anyone recommend some reasonably priced Christmassy smelling candles

Waitrose have 3 for 2 at the moment on Christmas candles

Do you want cheap (as in not a lot of money) or do you want good value (as in cost per hour)?

I love Yankee Candles, I usually buy from QVC (have to factor in P&P but sometimes you get 3 for the RRP of 2)

Even in high street stores you'll pay may £19 for a large candle, burn time 110-140 hours.
If you trim the wick, let it burn for 3-4 hours on the first lighting, you'll get a flat surface with no tunnelling.

I don't like pine so I don't buy the tree/wreath smellls.

I've got some Prices Candles from 2 years ago which are not pleasant. I CBA sending them back so they are sitting in my cupboard.

My fave candles just now are the glade air freshener ones!! £4 but if you shop carefully you can find them for £2. My Fave is and chocolate but there are many wintery / xmassy ones in the range. All supermarkets have them. Also, for posher candles at a fab price, TK Maxx is a great place to look....

I recommend Yankee Candle too, there are lots of sites online to buy them. Yankeescents4u.com, scentedcandleshop.co.uk, yankeedoodle.co.uk are all good. My favourite Xmas scents are Mandarin Cranberry, Christmas Cookie, Christmas Eve & North Pole.

There is a Yankee tsv on qvc this week I think.

Sainsbury's/Tesco's big packs of spiced scented tea lights. Asda also have a good selection of big candles.

Yankee ARE lovely. But they are expensive...

Glade do one called 'Glistening Snow' that is divine and smells just like Christmas to me! Tesco have them half price at £2 at the mo.

I'm not a fan of Yankee Candles, they burn a bit paraffin-y I think.

My favourite Yankee Christmas candles (how many do they do?!) are Mistletoe and Fig, and Winter Wonderland.

I get the glad ones too - can get for under £2 from teso, b&m, etc. I've also bought a few from primark!

M&s have 3 for 2 on scented tea lights too - I got some for the dd teachers!

I bought some 'Cinnamon Bun' scented Betty Crocker ones from the 99p shop. I later went back and bought all they had. 12-14 hrs burning time and they smell like you've been baking (funnily enough). The cranberry ones are nice too.

I buy these from M and S every year on a 3 for 2, they work out at £4 each, wrap them in tissue paper and give them as presents - strong scents on both.

I think Ikea had a few different ones, but am not a smelly candle person so didn't check them out in detail.
