Christmas Cards

Once upon a time I used to make Christmas cards. It was fun. Now, with Toddler, I have neither the time nor the space to do it (100 cards took some time & space to spread/production line). This year, now that he's nearly three (next month -- eek!) he's helping make cards by coloring. Last year, at the end-of-season sales, I bought some of those blank/DIY cards to color. However, they're all square cards. Nothing wrong with square cards, mind, but in the US they cost a lot more than a rectangular one to send (don't know why but we're weird over there).

So... the question is, does anyone know where I can get some DIY cards to color that are rectangular?

I always write my cards out before we go for Thanksgiving and then post the cards to my American family/friends just after Thanksgiving before returning to the UK -- saves an absolute fortune in postage and means I don't have to send cards stupidly early to make sure they get there in time.

I buy mine from the works. They have both square and rectangle as standard stock so you should be able to get them. Not very expensive either.

M & S had thank you teacher colouring cards at the end if last term (first time I'd seen them) so maybe they'll do Christmas ones too.

Couldn't you print them yourself?

Why not get toddler to draw a nice Christmas pic or do a handprint tree etc. then upload pic to something like Photobox and have a printed card made for you? Unique and personal pic but less hassle given the numbers involved.

I work in a charity Christmas card shop run by Cards for Good Causes and there are packs of rectangular Christmas cards for children to colour in for sale. Have a look at their website to find a shop near you.

Sadly, Toddler doesn't like paint on his hands/feet or I'd have done Rudolphs or trees. I'm hoping next year he'll be past the "ack, paint Mommy!" phase. His drawing, as well, is still scribbles and circles and not remotely Christmasy. He surprised me the other day and colored an entire pack of cards (10 count) in one sitting -- very happily asking for "more color!" every time he finished a card.
