Don't they wonder why granny , aunt X and cousin Y give them gifts but NOT their parents?

When I was young , Santa filled the stocking and left s present or two but we also got a couple of gifts from our parents. This is the route we've taken with our kids cos it makes the most sense, I reckon.

However 2 of our good friends' kids believe that EVERYTHING is from him, ie nothing is from their parents. I know for sure that my very curious DS1 would wonder why our next door neighbour gives him something but NOT his own parents. Not in a grabby/entitled way, just that he wouldn't really understand why.

I wish there was a standard role that Santa played so it was easier for us all to cover our tracks!!

When i was little(only 19) i thought everything was from santa, i even layed the milk out, mince pies and carrot.

I found out when i was 11/12 when i got woken up by them putting the presents downstairs. I cried for hours Blush

I will tell my future ds that everything is from santa, hes due on christmas eve, i will tell him he will have to be extra behaved Smile

Presents from friends/relatives go under the tree as we receive them. Santa brings all other gifts apart from one biggish one from mummy & daddy! My dc (6 and 8) have never questioned this; always just too excited to be too analytical, though am peeved at the 'little darling' in 6yr olds class who keeps telling all & sundry there is no Santa or real tooth fairies!!

Everything was from Father Christmas. He made two trips though, one at home and one at my grandparents. That was when we were very little. As we got older presents from relatives were put under the tree.

I think my brother and his wife did it well, most of the family live miles away so father christmas has to bring them from family who sign them "from anty x, from father christmas"

My brother and I were told that father christmas brought us one gift and sometimes that was a joint one, everything else came from mum and dad etc.

In Dh's house they were allowed to stay up till late and the dad would pretend he needed the loo or had to phone his mum he would dress up as father christmas and come in through the back door, everyone had to hide, he would eat the mince pie and drink the whisky and leave everyone a little pressie. Then the mum would make a big deal when father christmas went. All the other pressies come from family.
