Hahaha bethshine!

This year £150 but I've bought him a Uk holiday that I wanted to go on Blush Last year I spent about £50 and got a few presents for that.

andaPontyinaPearTreeeeee · 19/12/2011 12:21

I'd guess about £40-50, but about half of it is on T-shirts I ordered online that he will love - the rest is DVDs, books etc cheap on eBay. No 'big' presents.

Not included in this is one of those bendy car track things as he always loved the one his eldest DS had. Technically for the DCs but I've labelled it to all of them from mummy, as I can't wait to see his face!

No idea what he's spent, probably too much, although I can't technically say that as we didn't have any budgets (this will change next year).

What we have done since last year though is agree on some 'family' gifts. We like a lot of the same stuff, and we risk buying it for each other at the same time. So this year we have got a board game we've been searching for for years, and a DVD box set. They are wrapped up from FC and will be opened when the DCs have their stocking.

TheFallenMadonna · 19/12/2011 12:28

I'be spent about £150 in total. A tool cabinet and some stocking stuff.

We don't have a budget, well we don't have unlimited spending power (!!) but we don't agree a set amount.

KarenMillenCoat · 19/12/2011 14:28

About 550 but he works very hard and is generous to me all year round which is the only reason I can afford to treat him!

Every year we say this is the last time we are spending on each other because we have 2dc but they are still so little they don't really understand Christmas yet or ask for anything in particular so their presents can be bought very cheaply and we carry on.When they are older and more expensive I will either save more or cut back.

Ambi · 19/12/2011 14:35

£0 from me, maybe a scarf or summat from DD. We do a physical gift giving on Xmas Eve in front of the fire Wink and each get what we want from the sales, though this year it'll be a new garage roof.

CharlotteBronteSaurus · 19/12/2011 14:42

Dh has got £75 worth of stuff from me (Smythson diary and some diptyque cologne)
and a £20 present that DD1 picked (and I paid for) from the DDs

we don't have an agreement, but seem to have fallen into spending about £100 most years

tiredteddy · 19/12/2011 15:08

Claudiaschiffer
Def a typo! I meant to say THE DS's not ten at all, there are really two and that is plenty for now Grin

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/12/2011 15:19

Usually about 80 pounds - but this year I am really struggling for ideas and so far have spent about 40 pounds to include a CD, a book, some gloves and some running gloves. I feel a bit ashamed about my lack of imagination and hope that I can find something else for him. I will also get him a bottle of brandy.

lljkk · 19/12/2011 15:19

Most years I insist on only Oxfam Gifts for me (flood defense in Sri Lanka type of thing) & I get DH something for about 50 quid.

This year he is spending £1000 on my new laptop & I am getting him something (can't say what in case he reads!) that costs £400 (another replacement for item gone faulty).

It feels very strange to spend so much/have so much spent on me. Xmas Shock

rhondajean · 19/12/2011 18:27

I dont really do a budget but I reckon I must have spent £400 - 500 on him, I have also seen loads more I would like to get but am trying to restrain myself for his birthday.

I tend to get carried away easily. And he is spoilt. Rotten. In my defence, almost everything was on special offer or bought with loyalty points/vouchers (eg £160 sports watch for £99) so I reckon its actually worth about £700 - 800 really.

headfairy · 19/12/2011 18:30

we've had a £50 limit this year as we're broke... normally it's about £150-£200 though dh did buy me a laptop two years ago which was a bit more.

BliggOfTheDump · 19/12/2011 21:27

well, let me see.

Oh! nothing at all.

icapturethecastle · 19/12/2011 21:35

We only do token here - £20 max. I have even bought my own present a book that was £11.50!

iwantmyrrh · 19/12/2011 23:08

£130 including stocking and presents from DS & DD.

Blurry29 · 20/12/2011 07:40

So far I've bought;

New watch
Jeans
2 t shirts
Formal shirt
2 cd's
Aftershave gift set

Totalling about £300 ish. I know that sounds like a lot but I've been doing that over a few months, there's only me, dh and ds so we tend to go all out each year. We set a budget of around £40 for family members (but can still go over) but we spread it out over a good few months so don't feel a huge strain in Dec.

I go OTT on my DH every year, I only have one DH (thank goodness) so I want to spoil him GrinGrin

EssentialFattyAcid · 20/12/2011 08:02

Usually £50 but this year I am spending £140 of which £90 on a superfab stocking!

Lauzifer · 20/12/2011 08:18

I feel terrible at the minute as I've only spent £70 on my dp. I stumbled upon a reciept in his jeans for a diamond ring the other day. He's spoiling me and I wish I could afford to spoil him back as he deserves it.

JennaTailor · 20/12/2011 15:04

We spend (for us) a lot on each other at Xmas - on stuff we would never spend money on for ourselves !!

This year i have brought him 4 Snow boarding lessons = £200
Smellies = £50
A speaker = £50

wahwahwah · 20/12/2011 15:09

Bugger all. I am so bad. We agreed not to since I was made redundant and found out this mornings that he has paid a visit to my favourite handbag shop. Who does he thinks pays off the credit cards?!!

delilahbelle · 20/12/2011 15:14

Half of a new bathroom - he bought me the other half.

And a few random bits and pieces.

So around 2k then... Xmas Shock Xmas Grin
