DD2 has just turned 1 last week, has all of DD1's hand me down toys and NEEDS or WANTS for nothing but want her to unwrap some thing on the day.

Any suggestions?

You could wrap up some of DD1's old toys if you don't want to spend much.

I bought my DD ELC happyland for her 1st birthday. I bought some of the big sets (£40 ish) but they are a bit too old for her, she loves playing with the figures and small sets though, they were a hit, and if you already have some from DD1 all the better you can expand their collection!

Could you get her something personalised, a bear with her name on, something for her room etc?

Or just some new clothes, primark have some lovely PJs, flannel ones for £3, or a pack of 2 cotton for £5.

Art stuff, poster paint, big roll of paper, jar of sequins/pompoms etc and an overall.

Then I would just dig out some of DD1's forgotton about toys and clothes and wrap them, your DD2 won't know or care, its mainly so DD1 doesn't think santa didn't bring her little sister nothing!

Or could you wrap some of the things you are getting for DD1 and put both of their names on so that DD1 has some to open, but they go into the joint toy collection, DD2 will be the only one to play with them really Xmas Smile

Bloody hell I havn't been at the vino honestly

Should say ANYTHING not nothing, and so DD2 has something to open Xmas Blush

Thinking back to when my lads were 1 - I suggest you get a huge box and wrap it. Because she'll spend all day in the box and eat all the wrapping paper and barely even look at the toys anyway. Grin

Seriously. Big box and lots of squishy, rattley bits and bobs and she'll be in hogs heaven.

I wish I had known this before spending a fortune on toys for my sons and watching them gather dust while they spent their days sitting in a cardboard box. Hmm

Definitely exciting boxes to unwrap, and they need only contain little things but I think it might be a good idea to have something that'll be definitely hers. Unless your drowning in them, how about something like a soft toy rabbit (went down very well with my DD) or a new set of building blocks?

thats decided then, get some boxes, fill with happy land etc bob the builder whole set of vehicles and people etc and wrap that lot.

Im not buying any more toys for her, (Im 7 weeks PG too, so will have all of this lot to use again any way)
