I have bought my choc digestives, but wondering how far in advance I can make the nun's boobies before I eat all the biscuits.

What are nuns boobies?

Sparklingbaubles · 17/12/2011 13:53

Worrying I should be making these but have no idea what they are, but anything involving choc digestives fine by me.

usualsuspect · 17/12/2011 13:57

what are nuns boobies? ,I'm not googling Xmas Grin

BertieBotts · 17/12/2011 13:58

Um, never google nun's boobies!

(Was wondering why this was in Christmas...)

HughBastard · 17/12/2011 13:58

Explanation needed.

Sparklingbaubles · 17/12/2011 13:59

I thought about googling.

usualsuspect · 17/12/2011 14:00

you google then Sparkling ,and report back

BertieBotts · 17/12/2011 14:01

It comes up with a mumsnet thread from last year, and the rest are rude jokes and porn.

MarTURKEYSTEWart · 17/12/2011 14:01

I'd say they would probably last a week in an air tight container in the fridge.

ThatsNotSantasBabyBelly · 17/12/2011 14:02

Christmas puddings are nun's boobies I think. But why would you need choc digestives?

NormaStanleyFletcher · 17/12/2011 14:02

WTF are nuns boobies?

rhondajean · 17/12/2011 14:03

I am brave. I googled and found this post on another thread. Sorry I dont know how to link to the post and its a long thread, so IVe cut and pasted.

You don't need to spend a small fortune on food, chicken is nicer than turkey in my opinion anyway, do loads of roasties, why not make a sponge cake and decorate it yourself oooo i know i used to love it when my mum made nuns boobies aka christmas puds. You will need mashed up digestive buiscuits, (however you spell it) just cheap ones you will do, cheap chocolate and a few egg boxes. Line the egg boxes with clingfilm and melt the chocolate, add the mashed up digestives and mix together. Spoon the mix into the egg holes (for lack of a better term) and stick in the fridge. Once set turn out and decorate with a little white choc so they look like mini xmas puds. They are awesome and your dd will thankyou more for them than any pile of pressie xx

3duracellbunnies · 17/12/2011 14:05

It was in a thread about christmas on a budget a few days ago as a substitute christmas pud idea. Want at least a few for christmas day, but the longer the biscuits are in the house unprocessed the less likely that any will be left to make them. I don't buy them anymore as I just much them!

Not as exciting as I had thought but may give it a go. Basically crushed up choc biscuits with extra choc. Smile

MmeLindor. · 17/12/2011 14:06

How many came on this thread thinking, "NO way am I googling that" but had to know what it was.

Sparklingbaubles · 17/12/2011 14:11

I wasn't scared of googling stuff until I joined MN MmeLindor. Sad

andaPontyinaPearTreeeeee · 17/12/2011 14:21

Ooh I love that idea.

ChunkyMonkeyMother · 17/12/2011 14:25

Love this - Do you think you could just make a big one with white chocolate sauce on top?

May just end up eating all the melted chocolate though ...

teacoupons · 17/12/2011 14:27

My thread [smug].

3duracellbunnies · 17/12/2011 14:30

Thanks marTURKEYSTEWart, hopefully the biscuits will last a few more days then will make them. Somehow not as appealing to me once made into puddings, just too chocolatey, but know the LOs will enjoy. I know it said just plain biscuits, but then who would I eat the leftover ones?

I have a similar recipe, just slightly more complicated but declicious!

100g milk chocolate
100g dark choc
2 tbsp golden syrup
60g butter
190g crushed digestive biscuits
80g raisins

Melt together chocolate, syrup and butter. Take off the heat and stir in biscuits and raisins. Shape into balls (to look like mini xmas puddings). Decorate with white icing.
