I have done all the presents for everyone, both sides of the family (and myself!) but still need to get MIL something. So far she has lovely photo calendar of the kids (from the kids), and a box of Elizabeth Arden smellies, but we need to get her another present. DH and FIL useless, she loves shopping and is a very modern 60 something. If she wants something she gets it herself, she likes spending money and buying new things for her house. She is lovely and very good to us, so I want to get her something nice as she deserves it. She does not drink, does not have any hobbies, does not like fancy food, is not into gardening, would not like a day out anywhere, doesn't drive, help!

Depends how much you want to spend, but if money's no object I saw the most stunning silk velvet dressing gown in the white company yesterday - breathtakingly beautiful but eye wateringly expensive at £150!

What about a class (floristry/cooking?) or tickets to a show? Some leather gloves or a new purse? I bought my mum and MIL some leather slippers from penhaligons years ago and both loved them.

Indoor plants? Something nice and flowering, like a jasmine?
Magazines are always good
Does she like old films? I saw some good box sets in Sainsbos, Cary Grant and the like.

I bought the knock-off velvet dressing gown (M&S Autograph) for £40 for my mum. Went from Toast £250 to WC £150 to £40 Grin. The online colours are nicer than the in-store options btw...

Jo Malone candle - expensive enough that someone would think twice about buying it for themselves and lovely!

I've just bought my mum a Cath Kidston shopping bag for 28 pounds. They have some lovely designs.

Shopping vouchers

A nice purse

I bought my lovely MIL a voucher for afternoon tea. Might be an idea? Your MIL could use it on a shopping trip
