How to wrap large wooden dollhouse?

DD's (3.4) big present from Santa, should I attempt to wrap it or just leave it under the tree?

It is already assembled and has a full set of furniture and people (but nothing in boxes). Should I put all the furniture in there too or wrap that separately?

It is an awkward shaped two piece dollhouse so not just a traditional rectangle shape.

Suggestions please Smile

I would assemble it with furniture and people, put it on the coffee table and loosely tie a ribbon round the whole thing Xmas Smile

Could you get a box big enough to put over the dollhouse? You could wrap the box and put a bow on it so she just lifts the box off and the dollhouse will be under all ready to play with.

Ok I took far too long to type my message :)

What about covering it with a Christmassy table cloth - either material or disposable - with a large bow on the front. I agree that it should be already assembled and complete with fixtures and fittings - ready to play with!!! Then you can sit back with a camera and record the excitement without any effort on the day!

When dd and ds got one I just put it on the coffee table by the fireplace with a huge ribbon on it.

You can buy a bike sack in Morrisons its a big chrismassy bag intended for larger presents Im putting one over my DDs kitchen that she'll be getting.

Tesco are selling wrapping paper for 15p a roll. So, buy 4 or so, and just wind round and round!

Halfords do a giant gift bag which you could pop over it.

TysTheSeasonToBeJolly · 13/12/2011 20:24

All of my dc's big gifts are just being decorated with ribbon and a bow, I figure they would prefer to get on with playing with them rather than waiting for them to be set up. I have wrapped the smaller presents though :)

rhondajean · 13/12/2011 22:58

Ive always just put a ribbon and a big bow round the dolls houses, and then made sure I was ready with the camera to catch the expression.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I have decided to get it all set up and put it next to the tree with a massive bow on it. Xmas Smile

When we got one, we set it up with furniture and people under the tree, then put a small tring of battery powered fairy lights inside.

Very Christmassy! And looked great in the photos we took on Christmas Eve night/early hours of Christmas morning before the children got up Xmas Grin.
