I suppose I'd better get the baby something, but what?

DD1 was chatting away today about Father Christmas & the stockings & blah blah blah & won't DD2 be excited! Erm... yes, she would be, if she was older than 3 months & if I had bothered to get her anything for her stocking, or indeed a tree present Hmm So I guess I should get her something just to satisfy DD1's Christmas spirit. We already have books, toys, clothes from DD1 so I am trying to think of nice, small, cheap things that will come in useful. So far I've got horn spoon for when she starts solids!

FOIL balloon, does nobody bother reading posts?

Not a rubber one, dur. Sheesh.

vmcd28 · 13/12/2011 23:18

Napdamnyou, did you "bother" to read mine? Is a "FOIL balloon" attached to a baby with string any safer? My point was the STRING part, actually.
Durrrr yourself.

Napdamnyou · 13/12/2011 23:49

If anyone leaves a 3 mo baby with a foil balloon unattended then durrr them.

Obviously, but why would you?

A baby happily kicking with a helium balloon is a good thing but you shouldn't leave babies with toys on their own. Or on their own generally. But I hardly thought that needed saying.

you could get a baby walker (i know she's too young for it yet but at least then you'll have it when she's ready for it, i got my 6 month old well technically hes 5 months at the moment, a lovely one from m and p. Lamaze toys are also good, not too expensive, i've got my baby loads of them, i think the count is 7 at the moment lol. Night lites are good as well, i got mine the winnie the pooh slumber bear, for when he moves into his cot after xmas and a cot mobile. The elc do some great toys for babies as well.

DD2's best time with a toy to date has been those happy moments spent with a HELLO KITTY foil balloon tied to her leg while she's in her bouncer.

We have a 4.5 mo and got her the jumperoo (and it's come out today as she "needs" it!!), a push along baby walker from Asda, a little book, some basic shape puzzles, some happyland people, and something called moosical beads.
We've also recently bought her some bandana bibs, an amber teething necklace, a nuby teething ring and already had a Sophie giraffe - all meant for Christmas but needed sooner!
Some other bits we've asked others to get include the Lamaze type colourful toys as she has one we got at a nearly new sale she loves.
There are also loads of lovely ankle/wrist rattles and musical bits you can buy and all the babies loved the bubbles and fibre optic light toys they use at baby sensory too.
Little shoes are also a good idea at this time of year and the Puppet Company do some fab puppets that all the little ones love.
HTH!

Oh I bought my nephew one of these baby first stockings sets from Itsy Bitsy Bargains. Granted I asked my sister if she had one as we are not a stockings kind of family, but she loved the idea.
