Only 2 weeks left but I'd like to
(a) make a centrepiece with 4yo DD - was thinking of getting spray paint, collecting pine cones etc?
(b) make a few snacky bits, biscuits or truffles or something? Not to give as presents, just to have out when family visit. This is complicated by the fact DH is a coeliac, we do have gluteny stuff too but would be better if at least some were gluten free.
(c) maybe do a couple of tree/house decorations with DD? Will obviously be making reindeer food :)

I've actually got some time off before Xmas and I've missed DD sooo much (she started school and I started working PT) I'd love to do some nice things with her :)

I'm rubbish at creative things but maybe you could do some dried orange slices together and string them up on the tree? Just slice at 3/4s of an
Inch thick, gently tap dry with a paper towel before putting on a baking sheet in oven on lowest setting. Check every 30 mins and turn. They'll be done when pliable. They take a couple of hours but so easy and only cost a few pence! X

Salt dough is good for decorations - these look effective

Second vote for orange slices. I made mine 10 years ago and they still get pulled out of the Christmas decorations box each year. I threaded mine individually on gingham ribbon and hang on the tree.

I also made one of these gorgeous wreaths . They look really impressive but are so easy to do. I just used rosemary from my garden but didn't bother with the berries they put on theirs. The metal wreath ring cost me 50p from the local florist and he threw the wire in for free :). There are also loads of other ideas on that site for crafts.

Cut out snowflakes and stick on windows. Just need plain White paper and scissors.

paper chains are very quick and easy, dd1 told me I was amazing the other day when I did some with her and put them up!
