Need Ideas! Presents for parents 'experience day' with toddler

I need to run this idea past someone and get some ideas or feedback if possible - my parents are coming to stay for xmas and a few day after. they barely see DD (20 months) as they live a way away, and as I cannot think of any ideas for a big present for them both, they are very hard to buy for, as they really have no interests or suggestions of things they would like, have got them smaller presents, calendar, mugs with DD's pictures on it etc.

I was thinking of making a present from DD of a day out for the three of them, we are in kent and I guess they would be willing to travel a bit, they would drive, then we would pay for tickets etc.

Does anyone think that this would be a good idea? I was thinking a farm or something, we have this place near us.

Mumsnet

good idea or rubbish? don't know if it's a bit much, like we are saying 'take her off our hands for the day so we can lie around in bed shagging and have some peace and quiet...(well yes, we are, but they would love a day with her too)

is it open then!!!
we took dp's parent there and they seemed to enjoy it and would be very happy with a day out with the dc's, but my mum would look like she was sucking a lemon if i bought her something like that, so depends what they are like really. we have got dp's parents a digital photo frame this year packed full of pics, again my mum would look like she was sucking a lemon if she got this Xmas Grin
or what about the zoo's howletts is easier to walk around as more flat, but portlympne is better, infact i think portlympne you can only do a safari now.

Hi, thanks for the reply, yes, they would be fine with it, have had her for a weekend last year, but yes, that also sounds like a great idea, will look into it - he other thing relies on the weather so much!

I do hate paying for those things though, I am an art teacher and have a degree in photography - but my dad wouldn't take direction from me ad I would end up killing him and I don't have a studio, so it would be worth a try!

Thanks presents Port lympne and howletts are lovely, have been there, maybe - but as DD is so little, it was more the fact they have the soft play there, and the animals to touch, she would love that.

Rare Breeds is lovely. MIL and I took my 14mo Boy a few weeks ago. He was very pleased with stroking the donkey, the sheep, the goats and the piggies in particular.

Wingham wildlife park?

missmakesstuff · 09/12/2011 22:41

Have just bought a groupon deal for a photoshoot, enough change for the afternoon at Rare breeds or Wingham, as both sound good, hopefully it will all work out, thanks guys!
