I haven't, my 13 month old cant be quiet and still to save his lifeXmas Grin

But i go every year with ds1(9) and there are always tots there, no one seems to mind- its a panto its for children so there lots of chatter anyway.
It really loud though so it might scare him abit- as long as he doesn't sit there screaming it should be fine.

Oh god the very idea of taking dd makes me feel stressed

ImpYCelynAndTheIvy · 08/12/2011 15:26

I took DS last year when he was 4 months. He was absolutely fine until near the end when ther was a scary, loud monster. I just took him out.

We're taking him again this year at 15 months. I just plan to do the same thing. It's a local theatre one, full of small children, always very noisy etc.

Just take biscuits and drink and valium etc :o

I meant the drugs for you, so you would be relaxed, not so you could dope your 14m old. Just to clarify

Grin ImpY

And there was me sitting open mouthed, hoiking my judgey pants and poised to start an AIBU about you!

Thanks for the responses, I have a feeling she may not like the loud noises and such like, but when/if she cries I'll take her out.

Just hope I get an aisle seat Grin

One glimpse of a 14m old and most people will be shuffling down to let you have the aisle Wink

To think I almost had my very own AIBU... :o

What an idea ! I would never take a child under 3. Never ever.

ConOfScience · 08/12/2011 15:43

Can I ask why?

Just decided we're not going.

She won't sit through it, she'll be climbing all over the place, ruining other peoples viewing, and she doesn't like to sit on knees for any length of time.

Why put ourselves through the nightmare of it!

Maybe next year...

good call
i've got a 14 monther
the longest she can sit quietly without shouting to get down is three minutes, and only then if she's got a biscuit in her mouth

We took ds to the panto last Christmas when he was 16 months. He was absolutely fine. Although he slept through the second half of it!

ConOfScience · 12/12/2011 13:42

after a hefty discussion with DP, we took dd to pantomime and she was absolutely fine.

She sat on my knee, watched the stage, played with her little glow up wand thingy and then fell asleep Grin

I do however think she was a little confused/scared - as she nuzzled into my chest quite a lot, but always with one eye open watching what was going on.

The only thing I was concerned about was that it was way past her bedtime when we got out - but one late night once in a blue moon won't hurt...

I wouldn't to be honest. There was a toddler in the crowd the last time I took ds and the poor thing screamed through most of it. Sad It depends on your child I suppose.
