Which one is suitable for the smallest rider in other words!

Thanks Xmas Smile

The teeny tinyest Puky one - seat height 29cm.

I can't recommend them enough. DD was a small 2 year old and got it for her 2nd birthday - we tried a few with the same wheel size but this one comes up far smaller. DS1 took it over at 16 months old and it was easily small enough for him even then and he rode it straight away. The shape of the frame is more important than wheel size and the Puky one comes up really small - they are not cheap but fantastic quality and re-sell very well (we re-sold ours for almost what we paid, after the eldest 2 moved on to real bikes and now plan to buy another one for DS2's 1st birthday in April - oops Xmas Grin )

Ace! You are a star! Ds3 is only just one, but we thought we would buy him a balance bike and put it away til he is a bit bigger. Maybe not too much bigger Grin

Ds2 had a kiddimoto when he was 2 and was riding a bike woithout stabilisers before he was three!

Oops that last bit sounds like a brag - was meant to show how brilliant I think balance bikes are!

hehe you are allowed to brag (because I do it too - DS1 was 2 years 9 months when he picked up his big sister's bike and just rode off down the drive, leaving me to pick my jaw up off the floor) that's partly why we will get Ds2 one for his first birthday - he's already looking to be tall like his big brother and the older 2 have been early walkers so am hoping he'll get plenty use out of it over the summer after his spring birthday :)

Balance bikes are indeed brilliant - we live abroad where all the kids have them and stabilizers are a rare sight - now we live here I can't believe all the 4 and 5 year olds in the UK who ride about with stabilizers, as a few months on a balance bike and they'd never need them - as my DH pointed out riding with stabilizers is actually a blind ally as you corner totally differently ... You've found a fellow fan! Xmas Grin

We got DD a strider the saddle height goes down to 27cm and was perfect for her - so light and loads of saddle heights - prefered this as didnt have to be so worried incase it got caught in the rain etc and think when we looked was lighter than the others too!

another vote for a puky.

Wallace · 07/12/2011 20:19

strider looks good too - now I'm undecided! more votes so far for the puky

Damn! your ds beat mine by a couple of months! We were given a wee bike without stabilisers by a friend "to put away until he is bigger" . He got on and rode off Grin

Go puky. Good resale on ebay too.

lljkk · 07/12/2011 20:42

I dunno but I figured out today that 3yo DS is almost too big already for the Islabikes Rothan (inside leg = 30-42cm). Rothans are going for under 60 quid delivered on Ebay at the moment.

bugsonbuns · 07/12/2011 21:02

We got a balance bike from Decathalon which was really wee -definitely 2-3yo size. It was £30.

Wallace · 08/12/2011 19:45

Damn, too late. Have ordered the puky :)
