Lots of Love Puff, Mr Puff, Baby Puff and Doggy Puff xxx

Acceptable? Or crazy? Just seems natural to add the dogs name onto cards or is this (as I suspect) very wrong. He was my original baby...

I think your friends will think you're mad, but they probably do already Xmas Grin

PuffOfSmoke · 07/12/2011 12:59

Xmas Grin Very true!

My SIL does that, but she is crazy! My DH even gets an Uncle card from the dog. I've never had an auntie one though maybe it's because I hate the dogs, they are jumpy and barky and scare the shit out of me

WowOoo · 07/12/2011 13:05

Yes, he's part of the family isn't he?

Pascha · 07/12/2011 13:07

I don't think I would add the cats on my cards, but then, i'm not writing any, so it's a moot point really.

SarahSlaughter · 07/12/2011 13:12

They are your cards - sign them any way you want!

I do have one or two friends who do this, I must admit it does rather make me roll my eyes (just a teeny bit). After all it's not like the dog actually does wish me a Merry Christmas Smile

However if it makes them (or you) happy I have no problem. Goodwill to all men and dogs obviously

SarahSlaughter · 07/12/2011 13:13

Ps how do I. Make a Smiley with a Christmas hat?

Pascha · 07/12/2011 13:15

[ fsmile ] etc

CointreauVersial · 07/12/2011 13:16

My friend has six DCs and a step-son - she has made up a little nine-letter acronym using the initials of each of the family's first names so she doesn't get arm-ache writing one card. I think the pets would be a step too far.

attheendoftheday · 07/12/2011 13:37

I sign from the dog if people know her - neighbours, close family etc. Leave her off if it's people who would think I'm mad - work colleagues, distant family.

MortaIWombat · 07/12/2011 16:00

MIL does this. And she writes 'Woof'. Seriously.
I think she is dim. I hide it fairly well, though.

PuffOfSmoke · 07/12/2011 16:16

Just to family & close friends and no "woofs" or paw prints. Got it.

My uncle and his partner always sign from the dogs as well. In fact, the card is normally a picture of the dogs in Christmas get up.

I think it's slightly bonkers, but quite sweet. The dogs are family to them.

I look forward to our card from my "cousins" now Xmas Grin

SarahSlaughter · 07/12/2011 16:33

Thanks Pascha Xmas Smile

Puff definitely no paw prints!

PresentsRibbonsAndMerrySantas · 07/12/2011 16:56

my auntie complained that i did not right the names of my dc's on her card just put and kids, so this year i have put love presents, dp, dd1, dd2, ds, dd4, dog, cat, hamster, budgie1, budgie2 and guinea pig1 and 2 all named of course Xmas Grin

MrsHoarder · 07/12/2011 17:03

Well I did this with my rabbit when I was 11, so I can see the logic. But its not like the dog is a person [fhmmm]

PuffOfSmoke · 07/12/2011 17:09

Ddog is not a person? Next you will be telling me that Father Christmas doesn't exist.

My dog is a person. I don't expect others to share my mad behaviour but friends and family have to tolerate it.
