Advice on Xmas cake

I've posted in Food but have not had any luck there so thought I would try here. Do you think it would be ok to mix my cake tonight and then bake tomorrow? I don't have a clear day to do everything in time

personally I would do it but have very unconventional ways in the kitchen when needs must.As long as its covered properly I can't see what difference a few hours will make...awaits someone to come along & correct me

I would weigh it all out tonight then mix and bake tomorrow. I don't think fruit cake rises much (iirc mine used plain flour and no raising agent) but I don't know if the ingredients would separate if you left it as wet mix in the fridge? If nothing else, it'd look pretty manky!

I think it would be fine to do that.

I would mix all the fruits and soak them in brandy overnight (in fact, you really should do that overnight anyway), chop up almonds etc, weigh and mix flour, perhaps soften butter on counter overnight, but I would not mix together the ingredients, especially the eggs, overnight. Perhaps it would be ok but the ingredients are too expensive and it is all too much work to take a chance like that, IME.
