Hi
I just saw the thread about Tower of Doom being reduced to £32 - bargain even with delivery.
I don't know whether or not to get it for my little boy, he is just two and a half and has been asking for a castle from Santa for the last few days. However he already has plenty for Christmas (bought pre castle request) and probably won't be bothered if there is no castle on Christmas day as will be distracted by all oother toys.
His imaginative play is excellent but I don't know whether he would cope with all the functions of the castle as fine motor isn't that great and then he might get cross.

So I'm not sure - is it suitable for under 3s? Or is 3 the absolute minimum? I am sorely temped to get it anyway and just keep it until his birthday as it seems such a good offer!

Any Tower of Doom advice?!

We have the slightly older model, but AFAICS it's much the same...

I don't think there's much to worry about WRT complicated functions -- it's quite easy to ignore those. I think it really depends on the space you have available; the ToD is quite big and it's a faff to put up and take down so once it's assembled it really needs to stay up. If you have space to leave it out for the next 4 years or so then it's a good option, but if not then I'd go for something that's smaller to begin with or that is more easily put up and downable.

Thanks, I'm really torn because I feel cheated paying the same (or more) for something much much smaller and less impressive. On the other hand although we probably could make space for it my son is having a play kitchen for Christmas and already has a train table which is quite large so basically we are going to need an extension soon if we carry on at this rate!

Do your children play with it a lot Tmesis?

They do play with it quite a lot -- it's where all the action figures of any type tend to hang out. So it was a good buy (I got ours second-hand in good condition on eBay) but on the other hand I would really like more of my living room back.

You could get it and save it for his 3rd birthday.

I would get it and put it away for his birthday. I've done the same with the Melissa & Doug castle for DS1 - got with Tesco clubcard exchange but he's already got plenty for Xmas so it's stashed in the garage for his bday.

Ds got one for his thrird birthday. He doesn't play with it much tbh but his friends all thiink its great. It needs to be somewhere you can see him playing with it if you can't trust him not to take it apart. Ds took it apart only once when I was 9 months pregnant, I was not amused!

I just brought one for DS but putting it away until he's 3 in march!
