Has anybody taken their children to this in Norfolk?
We are thinking about taking 4 year old dd but as it is a fairly long way from home I was wondering if anyone has been and would recommend it.
Thank you.

We went last year and I thought it was a lot of money for a quick walk through some models and then a queue to see FC who was no better than one in a shopping centre etc (IMO). But there are a lot of families round here (quite near to Thursford) who love it and go every year.

Thank you. My worry is I will be expecting something really magical and not getting it. Maybe we will find one closer to home.

My mum took my little brother and sister last year and advised us against it, it just lacked something and the food prices were horrendous. I can highly recomend one in lincoln, we go when visiting my ils. And also one in suffolk. If your interested?

I went to two last year.

Ds favourite was at wyevale garden centre in bury st edmunds, they had breakfast or dinner with father christmas, did some crafts and decorated ginger bread and he got a lovely digger building kit all for £7.50 they're running it again this year.

Also blackthorpe barns come of the A14 at the junction for rougham and ravenwood hall, its £4 for children £1 for adults, that's just seeing santa and getting a gift and tree sapling, mil took them in and said it was really lovely.

The displays are lovely, lots of light up animals - polar bears, penguins, reindeer etc. Just twinkly Christmassy-ness really :)

However, we've been twice and on both occasions we felt rushed through, it was busy (went in the afternoon the first time and first thing in the morning the second time) and we felt obligated to keep the children moving along rather than letting them take their time to look at the displays.

They did get good presents off Father Christmas, but all in all I would say it's expensive (especially when you factor in the charge for the adults!) and there are probably better value for money places to go. We live locally, I think we'd have felt cheated a little if we had travelled any great distance to get there.

Thursford Christmas show, on the other hand, is truly spectacular!

We wer planning on going to Blackthorne Barns too, so I think we will just go there.

Moomoomie, might be worth checking the website as some weekends they have reindeers there for the dcs to pet and feed, last year it was the 12th, not sure this year but the posters were up again.

Wow. Dd would love a real reindeer. Thankyou. Will check website.
