Home made chocolate roulade for the non-Christmas pudding eaters in our house. It even looks christmas-y (think chocolate yule log).

On our first Xmas together DH and I went for a twist on traditional food - for pudding we did fake Yule logs, which were homemade brandy snap tubes stuffed with chocolate mousse :)

Can't imagine we will do anything that faffy for a few more years though!

We're going to have ice cream with Christmas pudding sauce (the sauce is a Nigel Slater recipe - crumble-up Christmas pudding heated with butter, sugar, OJ and brandy and flambeed).

Homemade trifle, mine is very similar to Prancings actually, and like munster no jelly.
Christmas pudding is just too rich for me, but you can get the individual ones if a member of the family insists on them.

No Christmas Pudding this year- no-one eats it !

We have trifle for Christmas Eve so there's always some left over.

Maybe a New York baked cheesecake that I can add fruit compote to.

I've bought poncey, cheffy chocolate spoons for DCs- they can have chocolate mousse with them.

Years ago, I bought tiny Christmas Puds from Sainsburys- about a tablespoon-full size. About 12 in a microwavable tray. Lovely, but never seen them again.

Great ideas on here, thanks everyone.

I have still made a Christmas pudding, I love making one and so do DC, but I think I'm going to make it into truffles.

We usually have our pud later on in the evening, but this year we are supposed to be going to DH's grandparents for Christmas tea (alien concept to me, I feel sick at the prospect tbh)
I would be happy with a box of chocolate brazil nuts but DH and DC's need pudding or they think they will combust Hmm.
I think I might promote Trifle from Boxing day pudding to Christmas pudding.

Xmas pud for us, but the kids won't eat it so I set up a little makeshift ice cream parlour for them - different types of ice cream, sauces, sprinkles, fruit and wafers/biscuits to choose from. They absolutely love it.

We always have a traditional sherry trifle on boxing day.

We don't like Xmas pudding, so last year I made chocolate brownies

BadTasteFlump · 27/11/2011 22:59

We don't usually have anything for dessert as are we're too stuffed from a mamouth dinner.

We generally wait an hour or so then have coffee & a nice big selection plate of Christmas cake, mince pies, stollen, etc to nibble in front of the tv. Pig heaven!

montymum · 28/11/2011 19:22

We always have a selection of desserts (16 people at dinner) Christmas pudding, roulade, triffle and my homemade chocolate orange cheesecake !
