Christmas Pudding

Can anyone advise?

I've just found two Christmas puddings I made last year at he back of the cupboard. No idea how we forgot to eat them, but do you think they're still OK to eat???

Don't want to poison anyone, but it seems a shame to waste them!
Thanks

I thunk they'll be fine- am sure tradition dictates that you make a pudding and keep it for a year anyway.

Phew. I've got mincemeat in the fridge too, do you think that would be OK?

IMO it depends how much alcohol is in them;I'd take them out of the containers and have a look and smell!! If the cupboard they've been in is not cold they may have gone stale and offish!!

Is the mincemeat homemade as well? it should be okay 'cos it's been in the fridge maybe check it as well .I've kept homemade mincemeat for a year and it's been good with a stir in of a bit extra brandy or whatever. But I freeze puddings if keeping them longer than 6 weeks or so.

Well they smell OK. I always add loads of booze so they may be pickledGrin Would they just not taste great or could they make us ill? Am nervous, but really sad to waste them... I didn't realise you could freeze Christmas puddings - will remember that for next time.

Mincemeat smells Ok too, will add more brandy now!

Sounds like they'll be fine Smile (If you think about it anything kept in booze lasts forever doesn't it?) They'll taste fine and be fab. I'd just steam them for a bit longer than the recipe says on the day.
