Wrapping paper - where do you get yours ?

I normally end up getting bits from here, there and everywhere. I'll pick up a few rolls in the weekly shop at Sainsburys, then maybe get some 3 for 2 at Boots and then end up grabbing a few last minute crappy ones because I've realised I haven't got enough the day before Christmas Eve.

So, this year will be different . I want naice wrapping paper. A paper each for each child. Paper that perhaps matches/colour co-ordinates with each othes/the christmas tree etc. I want to be poncey. It has to be decent quality but not extortionately expensive.

Suggestions please ?

BHS and Next both do sets where you get a few rolls of wrapping paper (different but co-ordinating) plus ribbons and bows, that can be mixed and matched with any of the wrapping papers.

WHSmith always do nice paper - usually 3 for 2 as well. They have a squares/grid on the back of the paper to make cutting easier/straighter.

I usually buy seperate paper for each of my girls - that way I dont have to lable them.

I then buy more grown up paper for everyone else and make them a bit fancy with ribbons/bows etc.

I sometimes put more thought into the wrapping paper than the presents Blush

M&S, paperchase?

Santa always gets the cheapo nasty stuff with 1950s snows scenes and santas/elves on it. But thats because he has millions of gifts to wrap.

M & S have nice paper this year, also Boots.

If you can bear to wait, Wilkinsons reduce all their paper, I think usually about the 23rd December. Shock

I used to worry about having 'nice' paper, but I used to end up spending £30 on paper, ribbons and tags etc. Now I don't worry so much. I can't bear the 'bin bags full of money paper' on Christmas morning !

I use brown paper with nice ribbon and candy canes.

Ikea has some nice paper atm.

I also have some deep purple and some teal paper from primark which is nice.

I bought the kids' paper form Asda at £1 per roll Blush because I need so much of the damn stuff! Plus, they had co-ordinating Cars 2 paper - blue for DS1 and red for DS2.

For adults, I'm giving the brown paper a whirl this year, and I'm yet to find paper to use for children other than my own. I never spend much on children's paper - they never take any notice!

I buy DDs paper at asda but - I bought it last January for 5p a roll! Also bought the 'nice' paper from somewhere in the sale for this year. I also love the wrapping and having pretty paper but can't justify throwing all the money in the bin when my budgets getting tighter day by day!

If you know anyone who goes to Costco they do huge rolls of paper (but then its one design) or double sided (but it was a bit young for my DC)

I bought 4 rolls, so they can have 2 designs each, and some M&S on 3 for 2 (in case I get any presents. Unlikely)

Aldi wrapping paper is excellent quality - I bought some one year just to finish off some stocking fillers and as long as you get their "slightly better stuff" it is similar quality to M&S/Boots and a fraction of the price.

HappyAsEyeAm · 15/11/2011 09:36

I get mine from John Lewis/Waitrose. Its really good quality, and always on 3 for 2 and I mix with tags, bows, rbbons etc. I love wrapping paper and wrapping presents. I like to ahve a colour theme. This years its silver and turquoise. The presents will look lovely under my tree which only has silver decorations on it!

I do allow DS to decorate our ancient artificial tree with all the tat that he likes and that we make. So he has his own tree! None of the tat is coming onto my tree, thank you very much!

ikea! cheap, excellent quality and nice patterns

Listzilla · 15/11/2011 11:32

I'm using Ikea stuff this year, it's good value - mine was ?1.99 for 8m! - and it's actually quite good quality for the price. It's just plain brown and plain red, but I like that. They did have more elaborate stuff too.
