Small budget this year - so, rather than buy each person a gift, are there any suitable things which would suit a whole family? Say, the mum, dad and children of mixed sexes, age ranges baby- early teen? Or 5/6-early teen?

Thank you!

board game?

ChaosTrulyReigns · 14/11/2011 09:23

Cinema voucher and popcorn/box of Malteasers?

KeepingUpWithTheCojones · 14/11/2011 09:24

We've given hampers before - a sweetie hamper from an online sweet shop (can't remember which one though) or a 'night in' hamper if you've got time to do it yourself - DVD, Popcorn, game etc.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 14/11/2011 09:24

Is that spelled correctly?

Grumpla · 14/11/2011 09:27

Massive box of chocolates?

Game of some sort?

Binfullofmaggotsonthe45 · 14/11/2011 09:32

Board game again from me - Cranium is a good one, Pictionary etc

Young family may appreciate a hamper - perhaps save money with the deals around and put it together yourself? Would also make it more personal.

Family films on DVD?

Theatre vouchers/cinema vouchers - it is panto season!

Voucher for a family photo shoot and one paid picture?

attheendoftheday · 14/11/2011 09:39

How about tickets to a local farm/petting zoo/whatever is nearby?

attheendoftheday · 14/11/2011 09:42

Or home-made vouchers for a day off for the parents and a home-made voucher for you to take the kids out for the day for the kids? Could be quite cheap if you go for a country walk or go to the beach etc.

Tin of heroes and bottle of wine would be perfect for me us.

Aloha31 · 14/11/2011 15:32

Wow, all great ideas! Thank you. Cranium is a good one, will definitely do cinema vouchers!

Keep them coming!

Vouchers for a restaurant e.g. Pizza Express.

Another vote for the M&S games. They do a different selection each year from about 5 to 10 pounds and there is always at least one that is pretty fun. Last year we bought a family one that was like Pictionary but you had to cut the pictures out of newspaper. That and a big box of sweets went down well.

They bought us a set of nice mugs and a Starbucks voucher, which was also v well received.

national trust membership for a yr (not sure what the budget is though)

I would be over the moon if someone gave me a babysitting voucher

You could wind the parents up and pretend you've got them a puppy.... but on second thoughts the kids might not find the 'joke' funny!! (pictures kids crying cos aloha ruined christmas!)

Amazon have some great deals, got twister for my sister, her dp and his son aged 5. Bound to go down well as the whole range of ages can all enjoy it!
