Christmas gift for riding instructor - any ideas?

My dd and I have the same riding instructor. She is lovely and makes a real effort to make every lesson a positive and rewarding experience, no matter how it is going.

We would like to get her something special for Christmas. She doesn't own the yard or even her own pony and instructing is only one of her jobs.

She is in her mid to late twenties if that is relevant.

Can anyone help?

The best idea I have had so far is a voucher for our local saddelry (which sells riding clothing etc as well.) but it is not very inspired.

A nice quality hand cream/treatment? Its years since I kept horses and my hands are still ruined! I used to use body shop hemp hand cream, but lately I've had crabbtree and evelyn rose hand therapy (£25 ish I think).

oreo we clearly think alike as that is what we gave her last year - the body shop hemp one. She wasn't my instructor then though.

Hm. Might be a bit old ladyish (I have those tendencies) but I just bought some sheepskin insoles for my wellies and I love them! £2.50 for 2 pairs on amazon! Very cosy. Or maybe some riding gloves? You can never have too many of them (vary in price so you could spend as much as you want). Or failing that I often fall back on a nice candle as a gift - depending on what you want to spend Jo Malone ones are fab but pricey, Yankee Candle are more reasonable and also lovely!

Good ideas - particularly the nice riding gloves one.

I have just got myself sheepskin welly liners for dog walking. How funny.

I was looking at hand warmers. Do you think that is a good idea or a bit naff?

Maybe she would like something completely removed from her job as you say, like a nice candle.

I was also wondering about a cineworld voucher so she can have a night out.

I am so stuck.

I don't know much about hand warmers I'm afraid so can't help there, Cinema voucher is also a good idea. Have you tried to sound her out about what she likes? I often ask people, just in conversation what they are getting from their OH etc, and see if that gives me an idea. Is she a girly girl - maybe you could get her a treatment at a local beauty parlor/nail bar. You mentioned earlier she has other jobs are there any clues there about what she may like?

Aha! You have got it Oreo. Thank you!!!

She was a bridesmaid recently and really enjoyed being pampered for it and glammed up a bit. Pampering voucher is exactly what she would love.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

(P.s. I did sound her out today and it didn't work at all)
