A new Christmas Tradition for this year:

Our Traditions change and evolve as the DCs get older.

In January I started saving £2 coins in a jar when I got them. It's now in a money box (ones of those poundshop tins that you need to open with a tin opener) so I don't know eaxactly how much, but I'd reckon £120 ish.

So the plan is: when we go on a late Christmas family trip out (Bluewater to see the Winter Wonderlan) we open the tin and share between DCs.

They buy a new decoaration each.
DS buys a present for DH
DD buys a present for me
They keep the rest but they have to spend it on Christmas tat treats for themselves.

My DD will make me something nice for Christmas (she's sewing something at school , aaaww)

I will have to give DD a 'hint list' (and march her round to John Lewis)

Also doing Elf on the Shelf, and DS is four, adores farm animals and wants a Nativity Set. With pigs Hmm

We are going to have to buy them separately I think Grin

I'm not far from Bluewater but have never been so will take a look at the winter wonderland LOLF, thanks!

I think that's a cracking idea OP. Bit too late in the year for me to nick it though. We have a few traditions that have evolved in our house over the years. DS had Christmas milk on Christmas Eve (which is basically a glass of warm milk with a little dollop of Baileys in - a treat and a narcotic in one Smile) and that ones deffo staying. This year though we're all making each other a Christmas Cracker for the dinner table. I've bought one of those kits and we've each got £10 to spend on the other person to fill it. I'm doing DH, DH is doing DD, DD is doing DS and DS is doing moi. Hoping it turns out as well as I plan!
