Our small team at work usually do Secret Santa but are giving a gift to a teenage girls' charity instead. Someone has come up with the bright idea of making something as a SSanta. Sad
now I cannot bake, cannot sew or glue things.
What the hell can I do?
I think it's meant to be " fun" item ....

Bracelets? Thread pretty beads onto strong elastic.

SquishyCinnamonSwirls · 08/11/2011 20:31

Soap? Get a soap making type kit and have a bash at that? Then pretty ribbon to tie a few bars together.

Or candles. DD is 21 and loves candles as do most of her mates.

Cheat?

I love baking, making my own decorations etc etc but I only do it because I enjoy it. Buy some biscuits from a farmers market and tie a bauble onto the bag with a bit of ribbon/string/cat hair. Life is too short my dear.

Is the craft thing for an adult colleague rather than a teenage girl? How about that vodka stuff people make like this

this peppermint cream recipe is easy. Its just egg white, icing sugar, peppermint flavouring and green colouring. Mix then roll it out then cut it out. You can use a star cutter to make it festive and also do a few white then add a little colour, cut out a few more then add more colour so it looks a bit more thought about.

It's for grownups...I like WaitingForMe's idea.

I could probably manage peppermint creams.

What about doing one of those cookie ingredients in a jar - you just buy a kilner jar (Ikea) and layer it with the stuff that goes into cookies eg flour, chocoolate chips, brown sugar - leave out the eggs obviously! Tie a ribbon and a gift tag round with instructions on and its ready.

Something like this or this

Ive also done it with just layers of different sweets which looked great - used liquorice allsorts, mini marshmallows, jelly beans etc. Really easy plus you get to scoff whats left over Smile.

Love the peppermint cream idea but where would you get a small enough star shaped cutter?

TheElvesSawBatgirlKissingSanta · 08/11/2011 22:29

Alot of craft shops do small cutters! Or a shop that sells alot of baking equipment, alot have a selection of single biscuit cutters, big and small!

LatteLady · 08/11/2011 22:37

If you can cut out squares and have a chopstick, you could make rosmademe.blogspot.com/2011/10/ragtime-christmas-wreath-christmas.htmlthis... the teenage girls next door all want one for their rooms :)

"where would you get a small enough star shaped cutter?"

You can get graduated sets on ebay for about £2-3

if its for an adult a gemstone stretchy bracelet might be good. i have loads of gemstone beads if your looking for some, and proper jewellery elastic. can even show you the best way to do it.
