Is anyone else totally stuck on what to buy for people this year?

Aside from the DCs and DP, I have absolutely no idea! I have the following people still to buy for:

a) 67-year-old mother (about £60 budget).
b) 26-year-old sister (£50 budget).
c) seven-year-old niece (£25 budget).
d) five-month-old niece (£25 budget).

We always spend less on the children of the family because they get tonnes of presents from everyone. I generally get crafty stuff for the seven-year-old, but I baffled on all of them this year!

Anyone else in the same position?

For the girls, have a look on The Book People website. They have some fab classic book box sets for around £25.

Thanks for the suggestions. :)

Unfortunately, my mum would not enjoy either hobbycraft or NT stuff. I would love it though, so perhaps should start dropping hints to DP!

Brilliant suggestions for sister and the nieces though!

Yep, I'm totally stuck!

I need to buy for a few friends, of varying ages, but have a few ideas for them.

I also need to buy for:
Grandmother (66)
Grandfather (will be 71)
Mum (46)
Uncle (45 and is also tetraplegic, no use of hands, so a bit harder!)
Boyfriend (only my 2nd ever, and will be the first time around the festive season - he's 26, I'll be 22).

Would your mum enjoy theatre tickets? A coffee machine? A ds with brain trainer (second hand)? A nice handbag? Good silk lined leather gloves? a couple of beautiful coffee table book or cook books? Cashmere scarf? Nice piece of jewellery? Jewellery box? Travel jewellery or wash bags?

TidyDancer · 05/11/2011 13:50

Mum would probably really enjoy theatre tickets actually! I think a musical would be a good idea for her. Sylvanians is good also!

You lot are very creative, well done!

I'm normally organised by the end of October at the latest!

If you have access to Costco they have big tins of panettone for £5.70 instead of about £15 for same thing in John Lewis. All dh's brothers and sisters that we're seeing at Xmas are going to get them along with a bottle of booze as a family present as they all have families with grown up kids that I don't really know. And maybe a game too if I find a reasonable one and reasonable booze!

Sorry, I know it's not quite your target group but thought it might be nice as a part of a present for your mum
