need some help please While sorting out stuff to pack ( we move 19th of December ) realised that somewhere along the wya have lost the charger for the xmas tree so think will mean a new tree this year

Now not sure whether to get good artifical tree or go for a real one.Never really had one as we like to get a tree up early and can not be doing with the needles

so artfical or real and cut or potted and ekk what sort

I have a similar dilemma.

I want a real one but the cost and the needle dropping puts me off. Plus a local bloke bought one last year and an adder fell out of it Shock

So I have decided on a new artificial one instead. It must be 7 foot and big and bushy.

Nicest one so far is in the range. Lovely ones in the local garden centre too but more £££

I would advise an artificial tree if you like to put it up early, even rooted real trees suffer if they're inside for a long time in central heating. When I had real trees they were only up from 15 Dec until 6 Jan.

Norma that is horrifying about the adder!

If you fancied getting one online, hayesgardenworld.co.uk have some stunners, including the one I have although mine is 9 yrs old now. Mine is the dunhill fir and looks pretty realistic, very good when decorated. Worth a look for the oooh factor.

Thanks girly, I will have a look on their website.

Catapult, I put mine up the first weekend in dec so doubt a real one will last long enough.

Hope your move goes smoothly catapult, and that snow doesn't cause difficulties.

I was due to move to my present home on the 18th Dec a few years back, but due to the conveyancing officer being incompetent and getting sacked from the firm of solicitors, the move was actually on 7th Jan. My decs went up early and were packed away before New Year.

We have a real one. We always put it up on the first weekend in December, and yes we do gets some needles that drop, but by Christmas it is still looking okay. We keep ours in water and I ensure that the water is always full.

Further, the Christmas tree guy at the local garden centre told me that if we bought from there, they only get the one delivery and so any tree we buy later will have still been cut down at the same time, but that it just will have spent longer outside without water.

So we always buy first weekend in Dec and it usually lasts fine.
