Ideas for DSis

I'm afraid this isn't really a Christmas question, but I couldn't think where else to post it, sorry.

DSis will be 40 on 3 jan and I need to buy her present soon as I am pregnant, due 21 Dec, so don't fancy shopping for something nearer the time.

I am REALLY struggling for ideas, so thought I'd see if anyone could inspire me, given that many people on this topic are thinking about prezzie ideas (for themselves or others).

We have quite different tastes, and I think she'd only appreciate something personal to her , rather than something decorative for the house (which is the sort of thing I quite like). I'm looking to spend around £50. We usually spend £30 for Xmas and birthday, and in recent years I have sometimes spent £60 on a combined present, so have bought her some nicer stuff already. I could combine this year and spend £80 ish I suppose, would save me having to think of an Xmas present too!

I have so far considered:

Jewellery - prob end up getting this, she has a pandora bracelet but I feel getting her a charm for this is s bit of a cop out, and I bought her pandora ring one before. Considered earrings, but the £50ish ones don't look that much. If anyone can suggest a good place that sells modern silver jewellery I'd be interested?

Clothes, perfume, posh smellies - not special enough for 40th

Handbag - have bought these in the past

Health spa voucher - could be ok but the only nice round here has recently shut down

Errrmm, am running out of ideas. If anyone could help I'd be really grateful.

I'd avoid going down the keepsakes route if that's what you are suggesting by 'personalised' as they are generally useless and will just gather dust.

I disagree that perfume etc isn't special enough, I think it's far better to have something you'll love and use.

Try not to worry about it being different just because it's a big birthday.

Thanks prima. Wasn't planning on getting something personalised, just meant that she prefers something for her, rather than something housey or similar. I like getting ornaments, pictures etc but she likes things just for her, iykwim?

I did consider perfume, but she got done Jo Malone perfume a few months ago and think that's her favourite and will last her ages.

You're prob right about not trying to get something different just cos it's her 40th, I just need to think if something she might actually like.

I love this jewellry.

It's about the right price IIRC and each piece is handmade.

Thanks, that does look nice and a bit more special than other things I've seen.
