Any ideas for what homemade gifts my DS(4) could make for his nursery 'aunties'? There are two in particular that are like his key workers who are lovely and I would like to get him to make something special for them.

Sweets? Coconut ice is very easy to make (google no cook coconut ice for lots of recipes)

Or decorated Christmas biscuits - you could do the cooking together then he could ice them

Handprint calendars, see here: christmas.yourway.net/handprint-calendars/ - we are making these for grandparents this year.

Read the OP, she wanted gifts a 4 year old can make! What are you expecting?

Completely agree with the suggestion to buy some wine/chocolates also from you as the parent

My DSs always make Christmas presents for relatives, teachers etc, over the last 9 years they have made lots of things - often purchased kits from yellowmoon.
Calendars (pictures - drawn or stickers, with a little year calendar on the bottom)
Puppets - hand sewn kits with bits stuck on.
Notebooks - foam covered books with foam pictures stuck on the front
Salt dough Christmas decorations
painted Bowls and cups
Bags - little strong paper bags with handles, decorated with stickers
Coloured in Christmas Cards
Bookmarks

I love the idea of the handprint calendars and am thinking of doing them for the grandparents now so thank you for suggesting that!
I was thinking of getting them a bottle of wine or something each anyway and maybe a tin of chocolates for all the staff, but they will probably get alot of chocolates won't they?
I also like the idea of the salt dough decorations or the christmas biscuits so will see nearer the time.
Thank you for all your ideas.
