She's not really getting anything from us, just a stocking probably, and maybe a glockenspiel, but we have a large family and they're all asking what to get her. Nobody wants to give vouchers or money, or to contribute towards something jointly. All of which I understand, but it's really hard to think of what to suggest!

She is a very lucky little girl and has a kitchen, playhouse in the garden, sandpit, bricks, dolls, farm and train set (not all new!). She has loads of books and people give her duplicates quite often.

I'm feeling so unimaginative. Wellies and a waterproof jacket are all I can think of. I'd love some big builders trays that we could use for messy outside stuff, but that's not the kind of thing people seem to want to buy her.

I make her sound like a spoiled brat! She's not at all. She does play with all her things, but generally prefers a few stones in a bucket and her imaginary pack of dogs.

Bowls and leads for the imaginary dogs.
Cooking set that she can use with parents or in her toy kitchen.
Bubbles - right age to love these and there are some fairly expensive contraptions out there that are perfect for relatives (rather than you) to spend their money on.

Perhaps set up a wish list on Amazon for books you don't have but might like to get. Less likely to get duplicates that way.

Thanks for the ideas. Sadly, she has already requisitioned leads for the imaginary dogs! Mostly they are very badly behaved though and run off without them.
I like the amazon wish list idea...but these are mostly people who wouldn't shop online to save their lives!

what about playmobil? there website has ideas for under 4's and then as she grows you can progress to the smaller pieces? you could create a list each year of things she hasnt got and people could choose something within their price range,

if not playmobil what about something else? such as sulvanian families or lego...

there are always new things coming out so people will never run out of ideas

Or what about DVDs of her favourite programmes, you can pick some up for about £5

dd has lots of cut up wooden vegetables but her most favourite thing in the world is this, am sure there is one somewhere else but she plays endlessly with it and other bits. I was more than suprised she would like it but she has sked for other stuff to go with it too and is nearly 4
Also would go with dressing up!

some ideas i got for my DDs at that age:

PJ's and slippers
Balance bike - these are great!
Lego of some sort
Fancy dress - my dds have always loved dressing up
Build a bear vouchers - mine went for the first time this year and its a great day out with toy at the end deigned by them!
what about memberships to local activities- 1 aunt got my youngest an annual pass to the local play farm - saved me a fortune!

Does she not like a particular character on TV?? With dds aged 4 and 6 i have all the usual stuff too but each year they get into something new and thats what i buy!! e.g. dd aged 4 into Lalaloopsy and my little pony this year and dd aged 6 into barbie charm school - both getting lots of playsets around these characters?.

My family was the same - never wanted to buy vouchers or clothes and i understand why as really they should be getting the fun stuff! What about a keyboard?

I hadn't thought of playmobil as suitable, but perhaps it is. PIL bought her some of the 1,2,3 range for her birthday in August. Well, I think they bought her the whole of it, in fact. I'll look at the slightly older stuff. She has good dexterity, but not good tidying up skills, so it might be too fiddly.

Cross posted with lots of ideas there, thanks. I'd forgotten aqua draw, that'll be good for someone. Maybe an easel too. I'd like her to have one of those night/ day clocks, but might want that before Christmas!

Dressing up clothes! She loved her first witch costume this week. I could get a box and suggest everyone gets a costume. Problems all solved, thank you!
