Aw thanks Over and Flubba - they both sound gorgeous! (being a bit if a biscuit fiend i'm going to have to attempt both!)

Flubba · 23/11/2011 19:23

My magnetic clips arrived today, so I've finished my first two bags - one shoulder bag inspired by over's and a messenger bag. Made up patterns for both though, and jeans one is def. a bit wonky Confused but am hoping they'll hold!! :o Pics on profile and genuinely welcome critique from you proper sewing MNers :)

RueDeWakening · 23/11/2011 21:08

Flubba those bags look fantastic! Couldn't tell the jeans one was wonky from the pic,it looks great.

QueenMaeve · 23/11/2011 21:20

I made these little tree decorations to put with gifts for families. They are mini wreaths made from curtain rings

LoveBeingAFirework · 23/11/2011 21:29

Flubba, I am not qualified to comment however the are fantastic. Funnily enough ice got a couple of pairs if jeans to one side in my room to make bags and storage!

overmydeadbody · 23/11/2011 22:13

Flubba I love your bags! I especially love the little shoulder bag with the flower, what a brilliant little addition!

I think you are being over critical of your jeans bag, it doesn't look wonky to me!

overmydeadbody · 23/11/2011 22:16

QueenM I love love love your mini wreaths! It was always a childhood dream of mine to make some of those (I didn't get out much Grin)

BelleEnd · 24/11/2011 11:56

Flubba Your pics are fab. I particularly love the matchbox car roll thingy, I want to make one! I only have an old fashioned (as in antique 100+ years old!) sewing machine, but I may well have a go this afternoon with some scrap material.

I've bought some christmassy material off ebay which should arrive by next week- I'm going to try and make some advent calendars for my boys with wooden painted pegs superglued onto old wooden planks, and then put a little pouch of stuff for every day. I am notoriously crap at craft, though, so we shall see how it goes...

MartyrStewart · 24/11/2011 15:58

Flubba, as always I am in awe of your pics Smile

This week I have made a trial run of peppermint bark, a christmas wreath and a pocket pixie. Nearly nearly finished my nephew's dino garland. Next projects are chutneys and mustards. Will try to get a few more pics up soon.

Flubba · 24/11/2011 16:30

Thank you all of you - such kind comments! Just hope my sister is as happy with the bag! :)

Working on a tea-cosy this afternoon. Not a great day for DS to practise climbing the stairs :o

QueenMaeve · 24/11/2011 21:51

Flubba, they look fab!

Flubba · 25/11/2011 10:22

Finished my owl tea cosies. Need to try and think of more blokey things - poor dad etc are going to be getting flowery handbags if I don't rein myself in a bit! :o

Fudge experts - how long do you think my fudge will last in an airtight jar? Need to know when I can make it so I don't have to scoff it all myself :)

RueDeWakening · 25/11/2011 12:52

Flubba - fudge lasts a fair while, def a few weeks. Make it in 2 weeks time, keep it in the fridge under cling film till you want to wrap it. Bring it back up to room temp before packaging though else it'll be a bit damp inside.

I always make mine in a slightly rounded tin, so when I cut it DH and I have to eat the not-straight-edges bits :o

Flubba · 25/11/2011 13:08

Ooh yes, that's a real shame, my jars are round too. The sacrifices we make... :o

Thanks RueDe :)

overmydeadbody · 25/11/2011 21:15

I'm all ready for my first ever craft fair!

I'm a bit nervous actually, but really pleased that I have managed to get everything ready and I'm not panicking at the last hour.

Just hope it all goes well tomorrow! At least now I will have more time to mn do other things Grin

Still haven't made any christmas presents for anyone, let's hope I have some leftovers...

overmydeadbody · 25/11/2011 21:17

Flubba love the sounds of your owl tea cozies!

You have all inspired me to attempt to make some fudge.

Stitchthis · 25/11/2011 23:23

Stitchthis how did you make your tags - they are ace & just what I had in mind to do but don't know how. Did you buy the stamp?

Stitchthis · 26/11/2011 14:45

Flubba · 26/11/2011 15:02

Sillyoldelf · 27/11/2011 22:52

Hi Everybody , I have been lurking forever , but just want to thank you all. You have all inspired me so much, that at my DD Christmas fair yesterday , they liked my donation of a festively wrapped Christmas cake so much that they put it up for auction! I would never have dreamed of doing this last year! Also at our Skills Exchange Christmas fair today I sold 9 jars of cranberry sauce/ apple chutney/ mincemeat . I took an order for a Christmas cake , baileys fudge , and 3 orders for mince pies . I have loved every minute of it! I also made 7 jars of snowman soup to donate to DD Christmas fair. Thankyou so much everybody. This is such a lovely thread. A real retreat from some of the harsher threads out there.
