DD wants a Barbie but I can't bring myself to do it

Any ideas for a similar doll that won't make her think she has to be a size zero? She can't read so probably won't notice if the packaging is different. Or are they all pink and skinny?

A glass of wine has brought me to this conclusion. She can have a doctor Barbie and a frumpy Freya doll from Asda to operate on. If she starts cutting back on cornflake crispy cakes the Barbie gets it. Thanks for the advice. Wink

I'll go against the grain here.

I refused to buy my dd one as I hate the trashy clothes, the pink, the body, the face, the whole shopping mall/ awful clothes/I wanna be a puppy trainer thing going on and they are massively over priced shite ie I refuse to spend money on something that will just get tossed in landfill for a better model/break and is shit.I think they're a major rip off.Last year it was £50 for a glitter wardrobe Shock,no doll.

My dd got given a dog walking one I let her keep it but bloody hell the clothes Shock-hooker boots, lurid boob showing top and a mini skirt which nicely showed off her pants.Sorry I don't want my dd thinking clothes like that are desirable let alone the body.

Soooo I went for a a Corolle Les Cheries and I'm really pleased. They're beautiful to look at,fab quality, the hair doesn't frizz, the clothes are just gorgeous, nice young girlish body and dd doesn't seem to tire of them ie want them replaced for next years model. Highly recommend them.

those dolls are lovely, i will be getting dd's one of them each, instead of moxie and barbie which i hate

If you register your dd's bday on Bambolina(they sell them on there) you'll get 10% off.

I second the corolle cheries dolls. They're very pretty and smell nice too.

Also DD loves her Groovy Girl dolls, but they're a soft fabric doll so look nothing like Barbie. They are much easier to dress / undress for 3/4 year olds and are cuddly too so DD can take them to bed.
