Our youngest 2.5 has LOVED the wooden eggs in a box that we got from John Lewis.

Other hits include:

toy money for our cash register that had toy money in it when it was new about 5 years ago!

random duplo figures with hair from ebay

bath crayons

(struggling to remember anything that was in ds's stocking)

What've been hits with your lot?

My 9 year old loved the notepad that was shaped like a shoe, it came with a pen shaped like a lipstick.

It was 79p from home bargains Blush

Sometimes I think it's the wee things that dont cost a lot that they like best!

borderslass · 06/02/2011 21:15

Up until DD2 was about 8 it was Slinky's in any shape or form.

hannahsaunt · 06/02/2011 21:19

Bubble bath in shape of Buzz Lightyear (DS1 aged 3)
Bubble bath in shape of digger (DS2 aged 19mo)

Oldsilver · 06/02/2011 21:25

MyCat I did that last year, paints, brushes, plastic apron and other craft materials. This year the hits were harmonica (proper wooden jobbie), mini tambourine (not a toy one), guitar strap and plectrums. Father Christmas bought him a half size guitar so its been a little err noisy shall we say since then.

CointreauVersial · 06/02/2011 22:01

The DDs particularly loved their little tins of lip balm, heart-shaped Post-it notes, and their colour-changing Mood Rings.

DS (age 11) was weirdly delighted with his little manicure set (he loves a bit of male grooming) and his can of Lynx.

timetosmile · 06/02/2011 22:04

Those funny eggs you submerge and dinos/creatures hatch from them (?Hawkins bazaar) also expanding facecloths.
Hand-squeezed rechargable torches shaped like pigs/sheep etc
GoGo's trading cards a big hit in recent party bags for that age (boys)

DaphneHeartsFred · 06/02/2011 22:05

A balloon with a helicoptor bit for the top.

Blow up the balloon, pinch it and wiggle the end on to the rotor bit and then let it go. Flies round the room very fast making a loud WEEEEEEEEEEEEEE noise.

I have no idea what they're called though.

KangarooCaught · 06/02/2011 22:06

Uno, a fab game

frazzle26 · 06/02/2011 22:27

A Dr fart key ring which has about 5 buttons on it which when pressed make a variety of fart noises. Probably not a surprise really as what 7 year old boy doesn't find farting hillarious!!

FuzzpigFourFiveSix · 19/07/2011 06:58

DD (3) got accessories for her wooden train set (not Brio, just cheaper brands that all fit together) - this year they will both be getting some as they play with it every day. As do DH and I :o

DS (1) got individual Happyland figures, a small Thomas and Harold and some toddler cutlery.

YY to the expandable flannels! They got new funky toothbrushes too.

MinnieBar · 19/07/2011 07:16

Whoopee cushions here too?

MillyR · 19/07/2011 10:50

For DD (10), I'm going to buy a lot of stocking fillers for under a fiver from this site.

www.artbox.co.uk/

This year, I have also said I will do a stocking for my sister (33). So any suggestions for that would be appreciated.

mrsotter · 19/07/2011 10:57

Wow a Christmas thread in July - that might be a new record!!

The fishy one would not be happy Wink Grin

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 19/07/2011 11:21

DS1 and 2 (who were 12 and 10 last Christmas) particularly liked 'man' smelling shower gel (think it was Radox or similar, BOGOF so cheap) fake moustaches from Tiger (around £2 iirc) , also little clip on book lights for reading in bed also from Tiger (£2) proper metal harmonicas (£1, Tiger yet again!) I also cheat and get them assorted stationery suitable for school, which lasts them the rest of the school year.

Actually I can't praise Tiger enough, it's a fab store. It's got lots of 'cheap' items, a bit like Hawkins Bazaar except that it's useful and usually really well made. It's quirky Smile

OddBoots · 19/07/2011 11:25

I was about to say Tiger too MDTK, we've only just had one open and it's brilliant.

mrsotter · 19/07/2011 14:37

The TIGER site looks fab! There is one in the next town which I didn't know about - will be dropping in for a look around! Thanks for the link Smile

mrsotter · 19/07/2011 14:47

Grin Grin Grin Grin

Whats worse is that I had a quick peep in the Christmas topic and people have been posting in it every month since Christmas! Shock

FuzzpigFourFiveSix · 19/07/2011 16:26

I don't know why people keep complaining about the Christmas threads - wasn't the whole point of the separate Christmas board to keep all us overexcited nutters in one place? If you see Christmas related thread titles, just don't look!

:o

memphis83 · 19/07/2011 16:33

Party bags recently that my cousin and friends son loved were fart putty and curly straws and everyone including the girls (and my DH) loved the retro parachuting men.

FuzzpigFourFiveSix · 19/07/2011 17:28

Oh flip I need to do party bags soon - DD turned 4 in June but couldn't have a party due to chicken pox, so we are doing a joint one at the park for her and DS (2 in August)

CDMforever · 19/07/2011 19:59

LOVE the look of the lazers!
Must remember to go to Hawkins Bazaar this year - bloody brilliant place for stocking fillers.

Tube of smarties
Character bubble bath
Character socks/pants/knickers
LOADS of plastic crud from Poundland - always goes down extremely well but lasts till about dinnertime!! Good old Poundland!
Found a gorgeous Disney Princess cupcake mix yesterday at Poundland for, er, £1. Sell by date is October but I never take any notice of them Shock
