Would it be madness to go to Regent Street tomorrow afternoon with the dcs?

ds is going to work with dh in The City tomorrow, dh finishes at lunchtime so I'm going to drive up with dd and meet them and we're going to go and have a bite to eat. Would it be utter madness to take ds to Regent Street to see the lights afterwards? Do you think it'll be bonkers on Regent Street/Bond Street at about 3-4pm on Christmas eve? I must admit I've never ever been up in town on Christmas eve (well not the shopping bits) so I have no idea if it's horrific or not.

Yes. Totally stark-raving NUTS.

I was there yesterday and I wouldn't even say it was busy

It was sort of normally busy if that makes sense

Yes and thrice yes
but it'll be so much fun seeing all the xmassy lights!

I won't do Oxford Street because it's a toilet at the best of times, but I thought Regent Street lights might be lovely. Will have to distract ds as we walk past Hamleys thought "Oh look over there, I think I saw Father Christmas on his sleigh!" Xmas Grin

Mine loved it

Especially the lights outside selfridges

It's certainly not as busy as previous years

Have you been to the Winter Wonderland? I haven't and was contemplating going though I see rides are £2 minimum which means you probably end up spending £20 within the first half an hour. If everything is ludicrously expensive, I won't bother.

oh thanks fox, I'm very tempted. I might see how whingey tired they are tomorrow afternoon.

I have been to Winter Wonderland, not last year but the year before, we went wtih ds when he was about 15 months old. He was a bit too young really. It was really crowded and really it was no place to have a pushchair. He'd love it now, but then it was just a bit "meh" for him. He did like a couple of the rides though.

Isn't cheap, I seem to remember buying a ream of tickets and getting through them horribly fast.

Hmm thanks, good info. Will see how we are feeling tomorrow to see if we brave it!

Enjoy the lights!
