Instead, as has always been the case, I've done our kids, his mother, an uncle of his he saw today, and my side of the family

He only has to buy presents for his sister, her kids and me

Anyway, he's going nuts, a full-on Xmas strop

NorthernLurker · 22/12/2010 22:04

What are you getting him - toys for his playpen - toddler that he is!

I think that I would say if he doesnt snap out of it he can buy for his own mother and uncle too in years to come.

CarmelitaMiggs · 22/12/2010 22:30

I forgot to say, I did his godchildren too this year

The problem probably began when I found myself in a toyshop and texted him to say, 'shalI I get x and y for the godchildren.' I think that meant he just assumed on a subconscious level that I was doing it all

I won't make that mistake again

(I suggested a food hamper for MIL, which I then assumed responsibility for. The uncle got some chocs from the present cupboard, so v minimal effort)

I'm getting DH an axe. Don't ask

I don't usually take responsibility for his mother; I've done it this year as she is coming to us (which never happens)

Normally I'm quite hot on us both dealing with our 'own' sides of the family (though I'll make suggestions if asked). It's a slippery slope, as this has demonstrated Shock

Are you sure an axe is a good idea at the moment Xmas Grin.

BerryinClover · 22/12/2010 22:45

It soured my relationship with my brother when I started getting cards from his wife, instead of from him.
