Last year was fairly typical: II wore a velvet knee length skirt, a knitted cardi and vest (a twinset infact Wink) and long boots. The skirt and top were from Kew.

This year I could well be in jeans as it is just DH, me and 2 DCs. DS2 is 6 weeks and I'm not too sure what fits.

If you can cook Christmas Dinner in a slanket, you have my admiration

if you can lounge round in your slanket and have dinner cooked for you, you have my double admiration

I go to church on Christmas Day so have to make a bit of an effort with clothes, as it's the one day everyone in the congregation dresses up. If I was staying home all day with family, I'd probably not bother

MassiveKnobOfBrandyButter · 21/12/2010 17:38

jeans, any old top.

I have to get up so early i throw on anything and then end up staying in it all day because I am busy enjoying myself.

BlingLoving · 21/12/2010 17:39

I like to wear a skirt with tights and a top but find shoes a bit of an issue often. This year, I'm pregnant so wearing maternity jeans and a nice top.

NorthernLurker · 21/12/2010 17:42

If my BOden wrap dress gets here and if it fits I'm wearing that. Failing that - who knows?

JustKeepSnowing · 21/12/2010 17:43

Pjs until 10/11ish, then whatever tbh.

Sometimes I try and find a more 'festive' top, but that usually just means a red on [frgin]

We aren't big on dressing up here.

this year i will be wearing grey jeggings ( i know, but they are comfy when you eat lots) and the sparkly blue jumper and black boots that my mum has bought me for christmas.

FlightoftheCrimbleTree · 21/12/2010 17:44

Am considering a frock. I normally can't stand wearing a frock but as we aren't going anywhere, I might.

The main thing is I cannot dress up in front of my parents thanks to a childhood of being made to 'look pretty' and the cringing feeling it brings - I can't do it.

So if we do end up seeing them I will get changed into skanky jeans and horse boots which is after all what I wear the rest of the time anyway Xmas Smile

Pyjamas sounds good though. As does slanket.

SuchStuff · 21/12/2010 17:49

I have a pair of black stretchy trousers - wide-leg,non-clingy but super comfy - that I've worn every Christmas day for years. They are such a classic, flattering style and the stretchy nature of them mean they are perfect for big meals! I will wear them with a nice jumper and funky necklace.

They are the only item of clothing I own that I've had for about 12 years! I've never seen a pair like them since and when they finally die, I will be distraught.

elliepac · 21/12/2010 17:50

Just dh and I plus dc's this year so it will be pjs in the morning with a swift change after cooking lunch.....into another pair of pjs Grin.

Ephiny · 21/12/2010 17:58

Jeans and top/jumper, if at parents or ILs as usual. In my own home it would be PJs or something equally comfortable :)

I want those trousers SuchStuff mentions, would love to have something comfortable and soft that's fit to be seen in company (i.e. not PJs or jogging pants)!

SuePurblybiltbyElves · 21/12/2010 18:01

First thing in morning - jammies, wellies and wax jacket Xmas Grin. Then I too go to church so a wool dress over tights and knee length boots I should think. Or a skirt and sweater.

Hulababy · 21/12/2010 18:05

PJs for most of the morning and then back into them late afternoon/early evening time.

Then just whatever I wear normally TBH. It is just the three of us on Chrostmas Day so we like to relax and have fun, without dressing up. We do the family and friends bits on other days.

FakePlasticTrees · 21/12/2010 18:10

jumper dress with snowflake on front, leggings, and all prepared for the new boots Father Christmas better be bringing me! Wink

piratecatClaus · 21/12/2010 18:13

i wish for such's trousers also Xmas Smile.

My smartish black trousers don't allow for eating. lol at cooking in a slanket. I don't have one actually, but god they look forgiving!!

I have a nice top, low waisted, which would be comfy yet smart, but my bottom half is far to large for leggings, the top too short. I normally wear tunic styles to cover up, but havent a nice one for the day.

just wanted to wear something nicer than the normal.

OP posts:
hockeypuck · 21/12/2010 18:18

casual dress, black leggings and ugg boots (nice socks for when I take the Uggs off).

Then jumper dress and smart jeans for boxing day.

SuePurblybiltbyElves · 21/12/2010 18:18

Long skirt?

Cyb · 21/12/2010 18:18

rofl @ cooking Xmas dinner in a slanket

Cyb · 21/12/2010 18:19

I've just ordered a sequinned black cardi from Dorothy Perkins which they SAY will get to me in time for Xmas...we'll see. if it does, that probably

piratecatClaus · 21/12/2010 18:23

I have a long black basic maxi dress, never worn it, needs a strapless bra BUT i guess i could wear a black bra if a wore a nice shrug with it.

then i could wear my slippers.Grin

piratecatClaus · 21/12/2010 18:24
