I've just iced my beloved (first) home made Christmas cake with royal icing - the sort in a box which you just add water to. It seemed to mix up as per the instructions, but now I've done my 'snow scene' and left it a while, it all looks like it's sliding a bit and the 'peeks' have flopped a bit.
There's a kind of glob around the bottom where it's slid a bit, not loads but a bit. So I'm panicking and would v much appreciate some advice from more experienced cake makers please! So -
Is that normal?
Will it still set ok by Christmas and taste ok?
Should I put it in the fridge as I'm wondering if part of the problem is that I have a very warm kitchen!
Thank you
