cellophane with curly ribbon?

mogs0 · 17/12/2010 14:23

I have cellophane bags. I got some off ebay and some from a party shop but I'm sure I've seen some in Sainsbury's in the baking section.

You can get them in lakeland - about £3 for 100 bags. I don't suppose you need that many but will always be useful for School Fair baking stall.

CristinaTheAstonishing · 17/12/2010 14:26

Sweetpea - how long do your biscuits last? Ours tend to get very hard after a couple of days. I'm thinking that you'd need to bake them and give them straightaway.

sweetpea5 · 17/12/2010 14:38

Thanks!

cristina - yes, bake and give straight away.

those ones from lakeland look perfect midnightxpress - they have a shop not too far so might try and get those - thank you!

mermaidspurse - any idea where would i get cellophane if i an't get to lakeland?

mogs - thanks - will also have a look in the hell on earth big sainsburys this evening.

I like the cello bags with the silver card base, so you can stack the biscuits one on top of another, looks much better than just a crumpled heap, iykwim.

I gave mine out this year in those glass jars you can get in most supermarkets for storing rice, flour etc - with the lid like a Grolsch bottle iykwim? Mine cost £1 last year but they always have them in at that price. I wrapped a bit of Christmas ribbon around with a luggage tag.
And they will store a bit longer as airtight too!

mogs0 · 17/12/2010 18:37

That's a good idea! I bought some of those jars from Ikea recently - I think the big ones were only 89p?

Mousesmummy · 17/12/2010 18:45

Yes you can get them really cheaply! I bought a couple of dozen last year and have used them for all sorts over the year Smile
They really did look lovely with the ribbon and tags on. The tags were plain brown but I put a Christmas sticker on each.

ReshapeWhileDamp · 17/12/2010 18:47

I buy cello bags with gussets from ebay, fast delivery and cheaper than Lakeland. Brown paper bags might look cute if trimmed, but the grease will stain them.

What about cheap glass jars with ribbon round them?

sweetpea5 · 20/12/2010 13:35

just to say - thanks again - glass jars is a brilliant idea. i actually had some in the house, so biscuits are now made and ind jars, ribbons and tags on and they do indeed look fab! . thank you x
