How long will a turkey or turkey crown stay warm?

I am cooking for the ILs this year and will be doing either a bird or crown for the first time (me and my family are veggie so DP just usually has chicken joints).

My oven is normal size and I am concerned about fitting it all in, would a turkey stay warm for 45 mins to an hour so I can cook all the veg?

it depends how you are going to cook the veg- in the oven, then best bet would be to put the turkey in the microwave to stop most of the heat escaping. if veggies doing on hob, just turn oven off and leave turkey inside

Oh right thanks, so if I put the top oven on to warm then stick it in there while I cook the veg in the main oven (I dont cook in the top oven, I can never get the timings right)

Thanks

yeah should be fine. if you set it to about 100 degrees it will be kept nice and warm.

If you're going to carve 45 mins to an hour after taking it out of the oven there is no need to leave it in the turned off oven (it'll overtook left in there anyway) you can just rest the meat normally. Place on a board, cover with foil and then wrap it up in a couple of teatowels. Make sure it's not in a draughty place, the juices will have chance to run back into the meat making it nice and juicy :)
