Just a buge tub of basic beads, with some extra bags of "special" types - glow-in-dark, and fluorescent colours; along with some basic shape templates - square, circle, star, heart, hexagon. Gives them the freedom to make what patterns they want without feeling they've got it wrong or being limited by a "person shape" etc.

Ikea do their own version which is cheaper (and compatible with real Hama stuff). Agree with Dandy, go for the basic shapes rather than the sets that make Disney figures or whatever.

Oh, and be prepared for a million 'coasters' Wink

I prefer aqua beads because I don't have to get the iron out Grin

They all hurt your feet when you stand on the stay ones though Grin

I never managed to get Aquabeads to stick together.
Hama beads are really not bad, I would have loved them in my day. Also agree with DD's comments.

I prefer bindeez as you dont need the iron.

DaftApeth · 30/11/2010 08:28

Are bindeez and aqua beads more or less the same thing?

Seona1973 · 30/11/2010 13:49

yes I think they - you do the bead design on a plastic tray and spray with water to join them together.
