Presents for 6 y.o boy - getting completely desperate

I am at an absolute loss as to what I can get DS1 for Christmas.

He is just 6, and a very gentle little soul who isn't into any of the Ben10 / action hero type of things that some of the other boys at school are interested in.

He has stacks of the ELC / Schleich farm & jungle animals and lots of dinosaurs. He likes all these but he has so many that I really don't think he needs any more. Other than that, he really does spend hours playing with soft toys, usually pretending they're a class of school children, or setting up a shop with them all for sale.

I have other children, so we already have plenty of lego and the like, which he doesn't play with anyway.

His main present is sorted (bike), but I need to come up with at least 2 presents up to about £30 on behalf of MIL and SIL.

What are your 5-7 y.o boys getting for Christmas? Help me out here.

DS is nearly 6 and is getting yet more playmobil!

If he loves soft toys (and mine does as well!) then I would really recommend a Build a Bear. Someone got DS a voucher for Easter last year and it was the best thing anyone could have done. He absolutely loved choosing it and stuffing it and saves his pocket money to get clothes for it...Freddie the monkey is now the proud owner of a Man U strip,pj's,jeans, hoody and boxer shorts!

These are great ideas, thank you!

I've just ordered the Usborne world puzzle that taffetacat linked to, that will keep him quiet for hours.

Those of you who suggested Build-a-Bear, at the risk of sounding very very stupid, could you explain to me exactly how this works?

The child gets a voucher for a set £££ amount and then goes to the B-A-B workshop and chooses what they want, resulting in an entirely unique bear, is that correct?

Floozy - he sounds like my ds, 6. He doesn't like anything violent or sporty. I think he would be happy with his sister's toys.

I have got him a cd player with ipod docker - £30 from Tesco for his birthday which he loves.

Also, Hot Wheels loop the loop thingy from Argos £29.99

Also, he loves Build a Bear too.

What about the Toy Story DVD?

Build a Bear - you would buy a voucher for say £30. Then after Christmas take him in, he would choose a bear or other animal and then stuff it (with help). He will put a little heart in it, and the back gets stitched up (by staff). Then he gets to choose an outfit, shoes, tent, chair, anything really. Then you choose a name and make a birth certificate.

Bears cost up to £19 but start from £8 and you can spend £30 easily with the outfit.

Alternatively, you could go into the shop and do it all for him, but that does sort of take the point away for me anyway.
