Anyone seen any cheap hamper baskets for homemade hampers?

I am making a few homemade hampers this year, and after keeping every damned basket I ever received for the past decade, I eventually got sick decluttered and sent them to charity earlier this year Blush

Has anyone seen anything suitable? P'haps I should trawl the charity shops...

I bought some last year from a shop called 'What'. It's a bit like £stretcher. They were shallow, wicker ones and cost £1 each.

TKMaxx have some reasonable ones.
I've made my gran a hamper, but packaged it in a shoebox covered in xmas paper, mainly because she would be likely to give a basket away anyway.

Thanks, Mogs. I don't think we have a What nearby (never heard of it), but trying Home Bargains, Poundland type places sounds like a plan.

Ours is out-of-town if it helps you to find one! I've just had a quick search but couldn't find an online store locater, sorry.

Morrisons had some nice ones that would be very useful after - with a lid. Only a few quid, and varying sizes.

Ikea?

BabyValentine · 25/11/2010 13:12

Thanks guys. I'll have a look in Morrisons this afternoon. Ikea is a good bet, too.

healthyElfy · 25/11/2010 13:36

lol

do you have a garden centre handy that its not too much hastle to pop into and have a look? Ours always has some nice ones.

Dunelm? I know they had some nice bright christmas boxes which I am planning to use for mine

DandyDan · 25/11/2010 18:48

If they don't need lids, then garden centres or well-stocked hardware stores do baskets of various sizes fairly cheaply. I bought one last year for a couple of pounds and filled it with traditional bags of sweets.

dracschick · 25/11/2010 18:49

tesco?

earwicga · 25/11/2010 19:23

Homebase.

Thanks everyone. storminabuttercup, that looks promising - and there is a branch nearby. Nice linking BTW Grin
