I'm doing my second ever Christmas dinner this year but this time have a toddler and am pregnant so want as little as possible to do on the day itself.

I know I can peel veg the night before and I'm rolling then freezing my pigs in blankets but can I do anything else?

Ideas, suggestions and recipes all appreciated! :)

I also prepare the turkey beforehand, so that all I have to do is shove it in the oven. Either keep in a cold place or make a space in the fridge (roasting pan and all!). You could also parboil the potatoes.

Stuffing can be made and frozen, put in a freezer bag. Thaw in fridge on Christmas eve, ready to use!

If you want to be really ahead of yourself, you can parboil and freeze the potatoes. You then roast them from longer. Make sure tp put them into hot oil/fat.

If you are doing a three course meal, make a nice soup in advance and freeze it. Borshch is our tradtional one: it looks nice and festive :)

Something that really helps me is having a list of food which is due to be served/appear on the table. Then I don't forget anything (like when I left the chipolatas under the grill)
