I've got a fantastic set, electronic Roland one so you can turn volumne off while they can hear through headset. And you can plug ipod in and they can play along. Its for sale by the way as DD has given up........

Wow Viva - where do you live? And how much do you want for them? Who are they made by could I do a search and find them?

Its a Roland TD6 kit, comes with amp, stool, sticks, headset and a teach yourself to drum level 1 book and dvd. I'd like £500 for it which I think is a good price. Am in Lincoln. The kit is about £800 new and the amp is worth another £200.

dp has several drum kits - one of them is an electronic one which sounds a bit like viva's, you can totally control volume etc. and the dc regularly play on it and it doesn't bother me or the neighbours at all.

It's not for sale, btw Grin

I'm going to put it on ebay tomorrow so let me know if you do think you want it as I don't think it'll hang around long. The good thing about 2nd hand is that you'd get the same price back for it if you needed to sell it further down the line.

The kit doesn't take up much room either, we have it in the sitting room in the bay window.

Oh blimey - didn't realise they were so expensive - think DH will go mad as it is only his first kit abd he has only showed interest in the last few terms going to drum club etc.

Will ask him though - thanks for the advice!

Yes, you are mad, but I can empathise. Our DS (5) was bought a toy drum kit last Christmas and it turned out that he's quite good at it. He soon thrashed the life out of the wee toy kit so a few weeks ago we bought him a slightly better kit from toysrus: kit

It is REALLY loud. We have it in our basement but you can clearly hear it throughout the house. And he loves it. In fact, he is currently mithering me, asking when daddy is coming home so they can do some jammin Hmm

I'm hoping he will transfer this skill for percussive instruments into a love of piano, but I'm guessing we may have to find a house with a shed at the end of a very long garden. Smile

Btw, I think the toysrus kit is really good quality for the price, and is a good starter kit.

Thanks chaps will go up to toys are us tomorrow and have a peek and will venture onto ebay too to see if I can get an electric kit for a smaller price!
