Can anyone help with presents for the above? We don't know them very well so don't know what they're into and have a very small budget of around £5 each. In the past we've sometimes bought a joint present for them like a boardgame but I don't think they'd appreciate that at their current ages! I normally send tokens but this year we actually have the opportunity to send over a proper gift. Any ideas would be very welcome (I'm trying to think about it now because I need to send the presents in November).

Thanks in advance!

Can't speak for the 9 year old, but some ideas that my almost 7 and almost 4 year old DDs love are...

7 year old
Books - You can get some great box sets of books for about £5. I've ordered the magic fairies and High school musical ones for my 7 year old. She also loves Where's wally too.

Clothes, jewellery, hair and make up bits. It seems big hair bands are right in fashion now, and my DDs love them. Also little packs with lip balms and nail polishes in etc.

DVDs. Slightly over budget at £6 each, but amazon have been doing two Disney DVDs for £12. I ordered Camp Rock 2 and Princess and the Frog. Obviously will also depend on TV region too.

Crafty stuff. My 7 year old has just started getting into making things, sewing bits and the like. She would love anything like that.

All things Hannah Montana. She is very in at the moment. I've bought a triple pack of Hannah Montana CDs on Amazon for £5. Quite impressive for £5.

Stationery. She loves stationery and is just starting to keep a diary - so something like that would go down well.

4 year old.
My 4 year old loves all things like dressing up clothes. Doesn't have to be the outfit, as she also loves the shoes, the tiaras and the like. These things are really quite cheap in Tescos.

What about board games - 4 year olds are often just getting in to them, and you can buy home versions of famous brand games for about £5 at Toys R US.

Jigsaw puzzles are also a fave at that age.

Also, my 4 year old DD loves Polly Pocket and all things Barbie. There is a toy sale on at Tescos at the moment, and Toys R us have had a lot of High School Musical stuff reduced so you can pick up a HSM doll for about £5.

Good luck!

Book sets from the book people!

BTW, Don't think HSM is cool for 7 year olds any more. At least, not round here!

Rosie Flo colouring books - would suit all 3 of them I'd have thought - or maybe Sticker Dolly Dressing for the 4yo - with a packet of pencils/felt tips each if you're feeling really generous!

Thanks very much for all suggestions on here, some great ideas :) I love the Rosie Flo colouring books, they look fab! I might get one of those for DD as well.

Rosie Flo books are fantastic, especially the night-time one (coupled with pastel gel pens), Usborne do a fantastically large colouring/doodle book which is about £5 on Amazon at the moment, funky tights, an unusual long-sleeved t-shirt, stickers or else a set from Chicken Socks by Klutz: simple sewing for the 7-year-old, paper fashions for the 9-year-old and clothes peg cuties for the 4-year-old.

I ended up buying the Rosie Flo books - night time for the 9yo, sticky one for the 7yo and the basic one for the 4yo. Hoping they'll go down well!

Thanks for all the tips, I'm always unsure what to get them so there's some good ideas here for another time.

Oh that's great! My 5yo dd has been obsessively filling in the first Rosie Flo book over the past couple of days so I can see that I'll be having to buy more for her Christmas stocking! I'm slightly annoyed as I was hoping she'd let me 'help' her - they look like so much fun! Smile
