i need some presents that cost less than £30, preferably more like £10that will look substantial under the tree for dd7, ds has lots of big box presents and it is looking a bit unequal. thanks in advance for your suggestions.

A big, character helium balloon in a cardboard box?

IS she old enough to appreciate a joke - a huge box with a smaller box inside, etc (like Russian Dolls) until a tiny but fab present inside the last one?

What about one of those secret diary pillows? Hello Kitty do one. They are nice and big.

ELC have this at the moment, check codes for further discounts, comes in nice big box.

great thanks, love the mister maker box and the secret pillow will def be buying those. Im not sure about the russian doll box idea, she would either love it or hate it but good idea (i may use that for the 17 year old).

How about a cupboard? One of my best EVER Christmas presents was a cupboard of my own, because it was the biggest present I ever got (I was not a sophisticated child). You could easily get quite a nice cupboard cheaply second hand from the local paper, either just a block unit with shelves or one with glass doors, for her to keep her things in? Perhaps with some enamel paints for her to paint her own decorations on?

I really like the cupboard idea - will save that for the future :)

We did a smaller version of the Russian Dolls for my Mum when my Dad bought her a bike but we weren't at home for Christmas, so it was just a picture of a bike.

Craft stuff always good as can be 'absorbed' into craft stuff you already have.
