What do we get DD, 3.4, for Christmas?

We are really stuck for ideas. Someone has suggested the Mini Micro Scooter but DH has said no as he thinks that £50 for a scooter is ridiculous.

Is she too young for Playmobil?

Please suggest away [hsmile]

My dd2 whop is 3.6 loves Playmobil. She also loves her dolls house, puzzles, lego, books and dolls.

Hope that helps.

JeffCapes · 21/10/2010 20:08

Does she have a toy kitchen and pretend food? My dd loved that.
I think playmobile would be too fiddly for her tbh.
How about a baby annabelle or high chair/pushchair for a baby doll, that was also one of dd's favourite things.

Miss Corolle

girliefriend · 21/10/2010 20:11

I have a dd a yr older and last year got her a princess scooter from argos (think it was £35) and she loved it and still rides it most days now!!
Other ideas, dolls house, wooden train set or a wooden garage and cars (I know it might seem a bit boyish but my dd loves the garage and cars - it is a nice one from john lewis mind!!) a keyboard, lego ummm if all else fails one of the freaky talking/crying babies that responds to its name was a massive hit and again has been played with A LOT!!! xXx

ja9 · 21/10/2010 20:12

the mini micro is worth its weight in gold - hundreds of threads on here will tell you that... so the idea is def worth revisiting.

my dd is a similar age...

she plays with her kitchen, kitchen accessories and baby dolls more than anything else...so would hugely recommend.

for xmas this yr she'll be getting a vtech camera and a dolls house...

Ineedsomesleep · 21/10/2010 20:14

We already have a toy kitchen that was bought for DS and she has lots of play food. She also has a Doll's House, complete with people and furniture that I got for just £7 from an NCT Nearly New Sale last year.

Have already got her a couple of books and a jigsaw.

She does like her dolls though and only has a pushchair and a broken toy cot so that might be worth investigating thanks.

More suggestions welcome though.

The scooter does seem expensive, but honestly will be worth every penny.

What about some craft things or an easel maybe?

ShowOfBloodyStumps · 21/10/2010 20:21

My dd will be 3.8 at Christmas. TBH money is ridiculously tight so she won't get much from us at all (she doesn't want much though). We've bought dominoes (big picture ones) and a couple of books.

We've been saving our nectar points for ages and we're hoping to get her a trailer for the back of my bike. It'll be a big present for all of us (dh and I don't buy for each other) so that we can take her out cycling again as she's grown out of her bike seat.

Have you asked what she'd like. DD knows her own mind and has a very definite Christmas list (including 'snow' and 'daddy to have the day off' and 'christmas eve on the sofa under a blanket with mummy'). She's asked for two actual things that are sold in shops. You might be surprised by what their hearts desire.

CoffeeMad · 21/10/2010 20:31

What about these or this

ja9 · 21/10/2010 20:44

if you're going to go down the dolly route, dd LOVES her baby's highchair...

girliefriend · 21/10/2010 20:53

I 2nd the little pink wooden tea set my dd was given this as a gift last xmas and loves it (as do I!!!) again it gets played with a lot - although the candles are tricky to hold on to (although we have done quite well only lost 1!!)

NothereisnobodylurkingbehindU · 21/10/2010 22:36

dd3 is 3.5 and I'm going to get her the Le Van toy hospital I think Grin

LolaLadybird · 21/10/2010 22:36

What about a balance bike? We bought one for DS (2.11) a couple of months ago and he loves it - he can really shift on it. We never got one for DD who's now 5 but wish we had as it really helps their balance for when they move to a proper bike.

Ineedsomesleep · 22/10/2010 07:39

Now I now why we are finding it so hard, she already has most of these things. The easel was bought for DS, but craft things had crossed my mind.

Will look at the highchair and the toy hospital and the balance bike, although obviously she will only be getting one, not all three!

Coffeemad forgot to say that the cakestand looks right up DD's street, she loves baking and play food but I can't get the second link to work unfortunately.

Another vote for the Mini Micro here! How about a dolls' pram like this. DD1 received one for her 3rd birthday three years ago and still loves it. She usually plays with her teddies in it rather than her doll but it's definitely a precious toy.

Other ideas include a CD player (personal one for car journeys), suitcases from Letterbox to put 'treasures' in or unpleasant, glittery party shoes from somewhere cheap and nasty!

The3Bears · 22/10/2010 20:36

The mini micro is worth it honestly, my ds is 3.7 and Ive got him lots of lego duplo and the toy kitchen from ikea also a kid tough camera hth :)

taffetawitchescat · 22/10/2010 22:28

mini micro brilliant and worth the money. just bought DS a maxi micro for his 7th birthday.

Le Toy Van stuff is gorgeous, my DD plays with hers every day. Especially fond of the Baking Set and the Breakfast Set.

tassisssss · 22/10/2010 22:32

both my girls have mini micros and we love them. dd got for her 3rd b'day and dd2 for her 2nd. dd1 is now 4 and it's pretty much used every day.

my girls will be getting playmobil for Christmas which is a big turn around for me as for various reasons I've been dead against it for years...!

Greythorne · 22/10/2010 22:42

We got my DD a Hello Kitty scooter when she was 3.....it was rubbish. Just did not allow proper scooting, ie gliding along, as it was rickety. Plus, it had two wheels at the back, so every time the child pushes along the floor, their foot fouls on the back two wheels which stick out.

HOWEVER, the mini micro scooter is AMAZING. We got one and it has been worth every penny.

Fantastic, glidey scooter action.

Two wheels at the front.

GHighly recommended. It is a mini fortune, but do not opt for a cheap scooter instead.

tassisssss · 22/10/2010 22:45

and they're light enough to take on a plane to France (we took 3 micro scooters in our luggage this summer!)

and it's very quiet

and very fast

and very light

and it splits into 2 bits that you can pop under your stroller

we love them. thankfully we've never had to pay more than £40 as agree it's silly money but so, so worth it!

roastedfox · 23/10/2010 10:40

if you get a mini micro off jojo there is a 20% code at the minute so you can get it for £40. i got ds one who is 3 next month.

Since my last post she has asked me to write a letter to Santa, in it she's asked for Juice, some meat and a Christmas Tree, so we'll have to wrap her up some juice Smile

Finally talked DH into getting a pink mini micro scooter and GPs have bought the Playmobil vet set.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to reply.
